The guest speaker, W. W. Gurn-
ey, of Wingliam, gave an interest-
ing talk on the manufacture of
gloves as carried -on by his firm in
Wingham, He showed samples of
various fine leathers and also var-
ieties of gloves. The raw materials
used are mainly of Canadian manu-
facture. The Wingharn product is
sold in Canada to wholesalers and
there is now no export trade, In
recent‘ years imports from other
countries have had an adverse et-
feet on Canadian business,
Mrs, R. J, McIVIurray, convener
of the program on Canadian in,.
dustries, expressed the appreciation
of the• members to Mr. Gurney and.

hensive survey of current, events.

the project of a bursary for a
Children's Aid pupil in the county.

Mrs. H. Dawson
Dies in Toronto
ST. HELENS--Mrs, Harold Daw-
son passed away Wednesday, Nov-
ember'23, in St, Michael's Hospital,
Toronto, Mrs, Dawson was formerly
Winifred -McQuillin of this com-
munity,
She is survived by one son, Don-
ald, and one daughter, Wilda, as
well as two -brothers, Evan and
Ed. R. McQuillin. Her husband pre-
deceased her in 1958.
