hall on Friday night in honor of
Mr. and Mrs, Bob Gibson. Mrs.
Jim Robinson read the address
and the young couple was present-
ed with a vacuum cleaner, floor
polisher and a gift of money. Both
made suitable replies and Smith's
orchestra supplied music for danc-
ing.

munity held their annual meeting
in the community hall, with Wil-
liam Mundell, president, presiding
for the business session.

Herbert Arkell, of Teeswater,
showed a series of pictures taken
in Russia by Gordon Gavin of Wal-
ton, when a group from Western
Ontario visited that country this
year in the interests of agriculture.

end at the home of Mrs. Dora Rid-
ley, Other visitors at the same

and two daughters, all of London.
Mr, and Mrs. Wm. Wilson spent
two days in Toronto at the Royal
Winter Fair. Miss Phyllis Wilson
spent from Wednesday until Sat-
urday there, where she had to ap-
pear as Lassie Queen, wearing the
kijts she received from Scotland.

several days last week with. his
daughter, Mrs. Robert Campbell
and Mr. Campbell,
Mrs, George Ashton spent sev-
eral days last week at the home of
Mr, and Mrs. Ross Durst in To-
ronto,
Mr, and Mrs. John Craig visited
one day last week with Mr. and
Mrs, Allan Castle. Mrs. William.
Craig returned home with them
after spending a month at the
Castle home.
Mr. and Mrs, Noah Reis visited
recently with Mr. and Mrs. Wil-
liard Reis in Hamilton:
Mr. Harper Wood is confined to
Victoria Hospital, London, having
undergone' major surgery Oast
week. We Wish him a speedy re-
covery,
Mrs, Emma Collins, who has been
in a London hospital for the past
two weeks, was able to be' brought
tc. Wingham on Friday and Mrs.
Don Goetz was able to return to
her home last week after being
confined to hospital for several
weeks.
Mr, and Mrs, Murray Kirkby of
Port Credit spent the week-end
with Mr. and Mrs. Carroll John-
son.
Mr. and Mrs. Stan Bride and
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mann were
guests Saturday at the Aldrich -
Tschantz wedding in Hespeler.

Harper Wood spent a few days
last week in London with Mr. and
Mrs. Bruce Williamson.

BLUEVALE-On Thursday eve-
ning Jack Armstrong, B.A., of
London, a graduate of Western
University,: showed pictures in col-
or in the community hall.
An entomologist, he was sent to
Africa to study the malaria germ-
carrying mosquito and give reports.
His pictures showed scenery, build-
ings -and people of various coun-
tries. His comments made the
pictures come alive.
The Morris second and third line
group of the Woman's Association
of the United Church sponsored
.,,re meeting. Mrs. C. B. Hoffman
and Mrs. Carl Johnston led in com-
munity singing.
Mrs. Mel Craig is a cousin of Mr.
Armstrong.

FORDWICH-St, Anne's Guild
of Trinity Anglican Church was
held last week at the home of Mrs.
John Leppington, with the vice-pre-
sident, Mrs. W. Sothern, presiding.
Mrs. Jack Douglas gave a chapter
from the study book, "Overcoming
Fear and Worry",
Roll call was answered by 18
members and four visitors with a
verse on Advent. Mrs. Lyle Sim-
mons gave a treasurer's report
showing proceeds from the bazaar
were $78.89. Plans were made to
cater to the Masonic banquet in
December. Committees were nam-
ed to look after this event.
Mrs, Lyle Simmons read a poem
on "Remembrance Day". The
next gathering will be the Christ-
mas meeting, when members will
exchange gifts and will be held at
the home of Mrs. Roy Simmons,
Rev. E. C. Attwell spoke a few
minutes on the visitation which
took place Sunday and the meet-
ing closed with prayer.
Mrs. • Peter Browne conducted
several contests and lunch was
served by the hostess, assisted by
Mrs. W. Kato.
