SCOTT Phone PA ilithatiovad GEORGE IRWIN DIES AT HIS RESIDENCE George Irwin died, on Tuesday at his residence on Leopold. St., following a long illness. He was 80 years of age. He was a son of "the late Roy Irwin and Annie Deyell and was born at Millbrook, Ontario. He attended school there and when 15 years old came to Wingham, where he lived with his uncle and aunt, the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilt Liam. D.eyell, Mr. Irwin was a carpenter by trade and also worked at the. Wes- tern Foundry for 24 years. He then worked as a carpenter with the late W. H. Rintoul of Wing, ham, retiring in 1950. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. 'Wilfred (Anne) Henry of Leopold Street. His wife, the for- mer Ella iDey of Wingham, whOrn he married in Hamilton, predeceas-, ed him in 1987 and one daughter cued in infancy, He was the last of a 'family of four, two sisters and a brother having predeceased him, The funeral will be held this. af- ternoon (Wednesday) at 2 o'clock from the R. A. Currie & Sons fun- eral home. He was a member of St, Paul's Anglican Church "and the service will be conducted by' (he rector, ileV. C. F. DONNYBROOK A surprise dinner for Mr, and Mrs. Gordon MeClinehey, of Aub- urn, on the occasion of their 35th wedding anniversary was held at the home of their son and deugh- ter-in-law, Mr, and Mrs. Norman McClinchey, by the ;family, when 22 of the immediate family sat down to a lovely fowl dinner. Later in the evening his brother and sisters and their families arrived 'and spent an enjoyable evening of. music, social time: Mr. and Mrs. George 'Webster, Brenda and Carol, of St. Helens, visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs, Stuart Chamney find family. Mr. Ted Robinebn, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Thompson, of Wingham, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Thompson and family on Sunday. Mrs. Jessie. Howard Had Long illness Mrs. Kenneth Howard, who had been a patient in Wingham Gen- eral eHospitel . for the Vent four years, pasaa(cl away 01) October OA. at 'the age of 84, The former Jessie Geddes Mc- Kellar was bern 'in Port Huron, Mich., a daughter of the late A.r.ch- ie and Jessie McKeller, She was married to Kenneth Howard Winnipeg, Man. Her husband, pre- deceased her December 2, 1951. Mrs. Howard had lived in Wing- ham since 1052. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Agnes McGee, Edward St,. Wing- ham, and a half-sister, Margaret (Mrs. John. Sutherland, of Sarnia, Ont.) Three sisters and a brother predeceased her. Rev. C. F, Johnson, rector of St. Paul's Anglican Chnech, of which she was a member, officiat- ed en Thursday when service was' held from. the R, A. Currie & Sons funeral home. Interment was in Wingham Cemetery. The pallbearers were Clark John- ston, Fred McGee,;„ Lloyd .Eliacott, Harold Taylor, Jim Hendersen and Bill Henderson. Floral tributes. were carried by Ernest Geddes and Jack Henderson, Mrs. John E. Ruttle Buried ,Monday A resident of Wingham since 1939, Mrs. John E. Ruttle of Scott Street, died in Wingimm General. Hospital on 'Saturday, November 5. She had been, ill for a long time, She was the former Elizabeth Ann Jones, daughter of William Newton Jones and Susan Jane Roach, and was born in Huron Township, Bruce !County, in 1891, She married John Ruttle in Ripley, He survives, with one daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Eulene) Antoniak of Guelph. Also surviving are two brothers, S. T, Jones, Toronto, William-,J., British Columbia; and three sisters, Mrs. Leslie (Vera) Purvis, Luck- imw, Mrs. Hughena Brown, 'Lon- don, and Mrs. Susan Lasenby, also of London, There is one grand- daughter. A sister, Mrs. Wesley Alton (Mae) of London predeceas- ed her. Mrs. Ruttle was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian 'Church, The service on Monday afternoon from the R.A. Currie :Sons funeral home .was conducted by Dr. Alex- ander Nimmo and interment was in Wingliam Cemetery.
