For Newlyweds
BELGRAVE — A shower and
'dance was held on. Friday evening
in the Foresters hall in, honor of
Mr. and Mrs, Jim Carter, of Lon-
desboro. Mrs, Carter is the former
Dorothy Cook.
During intermission Lewis Cook
read ran address and Norman
Cook presented the Young couple
with a gift 'of money. Jim ,thanked
everyone on behalf of himself and
Dorothy. Lunch was served and
dancing was enjoyed to the music
of Tiffins orchestra.

Mr. John F. Scott in London on
Tuesday.
Week-end visitors at the home
of Mr. and Mrs, Harvey Webb were
Mr. and Mrs, J. R. Lawrence, of
Toronto, Mr. and Mrs, Dan Rose,
of Newmarket, Mr. and Mrs, Ken
Grewar and Nancy, of Brantford,
and Miss Alison Webb, of Guelph.
Mr. Irvin McCabe, of Windsor,
spent a few days with Mr. and
Mrs. Frank McQuillin and Terry,
Mr. A. ,G. Webb returned to the
home of his daughter, Mrs. E. W.
Rice and Mr. Rice. Mr. Webb has
been a patient in Wingham Hos-
pital for the past eight weeks, We
wish him improVed health.

BELGRAVE—The Hi-C meeting
was held on October 30, when
Joyce Armstrong's ,group was in
charge with "What Do We Win?"
as the topic.
The meeting opened with a sing-
song led by Joyce Armstrong and
accompanied by Lorne Campbell.
The introduction was taken by
Ruth Taylor and a hymn followed.
A news editorial, "Must We Always
Keep Score?" was read by Marilyn
Campbell and Barry Logan, and a
hymn followed.
Buzz groups were contacted by
Joyce Armstrong and the service
of worship was opened by Anne
Currie. A hymn followed and Mar-
ilyn Campbell took the meditation.
Ruth Taylor read the Scripture
and Barry Logan led in prayer.
The offering was taken up and
the meeting closed with games by
Ruth Procter.

Mrs, Mabel Stapleton is spending
some time with her son-in-law and
daughter, !Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert
Procter and family.
Mrs. R. H. Coultes Is a patient
in the Wingham General Hospital.
Ronald Campbell, of London,
spent the week-end with his moth-
er, Mrs. Floyd Campbell, and other
relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Smith
visited on Sunday with Mrs. Thyra
Townsend and Mr. Jack Allen in
Mimico.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McCrae
visited on Sunday with Mrs. Thyra
Townsend and Mr. Jack Allen at
Mimic°, and with Mr. and Mrs.
Bernie Williamson'in Toronto. Mrs.
Neil McCrea returned to her home
after visiting there for the past
few weeks.
Mr." and Mrs. Lloyd Taylor and
fainily spent the 'week-end' with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orval
Taylor, and other relatives.
Mrs. Charles Lake, of Huntsville,
is ipending a few days visiting
with her brother-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs, Lyle Hopper. Mrs. Bob John-
ston, of Erindale, also visited with
her brother, Mr. Hopper, and Mrs.
Hopper.
The ladies of Knox United
Church held a very successful
bazaar in the basement of the
church on Wednesday.
The weekly progressive euchre
parties will start in the community
centre on Wednesday evening,
Miss Chris McClinton and Mr. J.
Sharpe, Goderich, and Mr, and
Mrs. Bill Thompson and Billy, of
Clinton, visited on Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs. Orval Taylor.
TEACHERS at a Sunday school
took turns addressing the pupils.
Usually they rounded off a fine,
well-told story with: "Now, chil-
dren, the moral of this story is ..."
Came the day when one teacher
did an extra fine job. The young-
sters were delighted—so much so
that one .asked if-that particular
teacher might talk more often.
