MRS. G. McHURNEY
SPEAKS AT BLUEVALE
BLUEVALE—The WMS of Knox
Presbyterian Church held its
Thankoffering meeting in the
school room of the church on the
afternoon of October 4th. The
president, Mrs. Bernard Thomas,
conducted devotions.
Mrs. R. J. McMurray gave the
secretary's report and Mrs. William
Mundell read the financial state-
ment.
Mrs. Milton Fraser, president of
the WMS of Bluevale United
Church, whose members were
guests,' read the Scripture and gave
comments, stressing the Thanks-
giving theme.
Mrs. Gordon McBurney, of
Whitechurch, was guest speaker.
Quoting Paul's statement abOut
faith, hope and charity, she showed
that love is the fulfilling of the
law as exemplified fully in Jesus
Christ. It is love that makes one
"easy to live with" in the home.
This attitude should be extended
to the community and the nation.
Our neighbor is anyone we can
help, of whatever race, 'color, or
religious background. Refugees are
especially in our thoughts at this
time.
The president and also Mrs.
Harry Elliott expressed appreci-
ation for the fine address and Mrs.
Elliott presented a gift to Mrs.
McBurney.
