Oldsmobile of- fers a distinctively different 'body for the top-line 98. • While 1961 styling gives 'the cars a long look, overall length and width have actually been reduced. Although interior widths remain approximately the same, exterior width is 3.8 inches less, In all series, headroom has been substantially increased in hardtop models and is ample in ail body Styles. Rear seat legroom has been retained and, in many instances, improved over last year. Overall length of the 98 has been reduced three Inches and outside width of this series has also been reduced 3.8 inches. Passenger comfort is improved by increasing the cushion depth and chair height for both front and rear seats. Door openings in both front and rear have been widened, and the new windshield design brings with its straight, slanted. front "corner posts". The "dog- leg', has been eliminated.
