ter sleeves and pleated 'bodices of
matching chiffon. The headdresses
and shoes were French lime and
they carried bouquets of yellow
and bronze mums.
Howard Hanford was the -best
man. The guests were ushered to
their pews by Gordon Ross,
For the reception in the church
Parlor, the bride's table was cen-
tred with a three-storey wedding
cake. The bride's mother wore a
willow green wool sheath with
beige hat and gloves and a corsage
of bronze mums. The groom's
mother assisted in receiving the
guests and was attired in a ro-
mance blue lace over ' taffeta
sheath with matching hat and
shoes. Her corsage was pink car-
nations. Assisting in serving the
guests were friends of the bride,
Miss Mary Lou Moffat, Miss Verlie
Metcalfe, Miss Doris Pickell and
Miss Barbara Armstrong.
Guests were present from King-
ston, Brockville, Wingham, Tor-
onto, Brighton and Teeswater,
For travelling to Northern On-
tario Mrs. McQueen wore a grey
wool tweed stroller suit, red hat,
black bag and shoes and a corsage
of a white gardenia surrounded by
red carnations; They will live in
Toronto.

White mums decorated St. An-
drew's Presbyterian Church on Sat-
urday afternoon for the wedding of
Mary Adeline Ross, of Wingham,
and Douglas Maxwell McQueen, of
Toronto. Dr. Alexander Nimmo per-
formed the ceremony. Mrs. Nelson
Pickell was organist and Gordon
Leggatt sang "The Lord's Prayer"
and "Wedding Prayer".
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ross, Wing-
ham, are the parents of the bride.
The groom is the son of Dr. and
Mrs. Kenneth t award McQueen, of
Bloomfield, Ontario,
.Mr,. Ross gave his daughter's
hand in marriage. She looked lovely
in a floor-length gown of white
peau de soie, styled with a basque
Waist and side skirt fullness, a
scalloped bateau neckline and long
lily-point sleeves. Her crown of
seed pearls and irrideseent -Sequins
held a French tulle finger- veil.
The bride's jewellery consisted of a
diamond pendant, the gift of the
groorri. She carried a white Bible
covered with white stephanotis and
heather.
.Mrs. Lionel Leshley and Mrs.
Howard Hanford, both of Toronto,
were matron of honor and brides-
maid, respectively, They wore iden-
tical costumes of French lime peau
de sole on 'princess lines. The
gowns were street-length and styled

The conned met on October 4th,
with all the members present,
Reeve Hanna presiding, the min-
utes of the meeting held September
6th were read and adopted on

Mr. Newman, of the Wingham
Salvation Army, was present re-
questing a grant for the Army.
Hallahan-Buchanan That coun-
cil give a grant of $75.00 to the
Wingham Salvation Army.
McGowan-Pu mica That- the
council approve the issuing of
$40,000.00 debentures to finish and
equip the new addition to the
Clinton District Collegiate Insti-
tute,
Buchanan-Purdon- -That council
pay Daniel Hallalian $1,800,00 as a
Tile Drain Loan.
Hallahan-McGowan - - That the
road and general accounts as pre-
sented be passed and paid.
Purdon-Buchanan -That council
accept the 1060 Assessment Roll.
