Albert Bacon of BelgraVe was
one of the top winners at the zone
2 Regional Yorkshire Show at
Teeswater. He had the champion
boar in one elass and grand chain-
pion of boars one year and over.
He took first prize for sow one
year and under 18 months, and
first for senior herd. Xn all, Mr.
Bacon received thirteen prizes hi

Outline Plans for
"Pioneer Girls"
The monthly meeting pf the Bap-
tist Young Women's Auxiliary was
held at the parsonago on Thursday
evening. 'The meeting opened with
the hymn, 'Praise The Saviour"
and prayer by the president. Mrs.
B. MacLean.
The topic was centered around
thoughts of Thanksgiving, Mrs.
A. Proctor read an article, "Giving
Than:zs Always for All Things".
Mrs. L. Archer read "Have You
Thanked Him?", Mrs. Kilpatrick
read "The Greatest Blessings" and
Mrs. R, Burchill reed a chapter
from Dr. Pierce's hook,
A letter from The Chinese Evan-
gelical Church was read by Mrs. B.
MacLean,
Mrs. F: Collar was in charge pf
devotions and read a chapter from
the book "Being a Real Christian"
pointing out how our testimony to
others should be without shame
and fear. Several Scripture verses
were read by those present. The
'hymn, "Like a River Glorious" was
sung.
Several missionary letters .were
read, and prayer was offered
respectively by those who read the
letters,
Business was discussed and the
Thankoffering meeting was an-
nounced for Nov. 28th, Mrs. Sin-
clair outlined the plans for a new
church program for young girls
called Pioneer Girls. The hymn,
"Oh, The Precious Love of Jesus"
was sung and Mrs. Sinclair closed
in prayer. Lunch was served by
the hostess and those in charge.

WHITECHTJRCH—The marriage
of Miss Irma Janet Forster, daugh-
ter of Mr, William Forster and the
late Mrs. Forster, and Donald Wes-
ley Ross Henderson, son of Mr, and
Mrs, Eldon Henderson, of Luck-
now, was .solemnized on Saturday
at 3 p.m, in the Presbyterian
Church here. Rev. Mr. McKenney,
of Teeswater, officiated.
Mrs. Ronald Perrot, sister of the
'bride, was matron of honor, while
Miss Norma Forster and Mrs. Wal-

Linda Henderson and. Ruth Elliott

Murray Henderson, 'brother of the
grown, was best man. Lorne For-
ster was soloist.
' The wedding dinner, for fifty
guests, was served in 'the S. S.
room of the church.
The ladies of the congregation
had held a miscellaneous shower
for Miss Forster at the home of
Mrs. John Gaunt and St. Helens
friends had held a social evening
for her on Friday last. Many
friends attended the trousseau tea
at her home on Tuesday. The happy
couple will make their home on the
groom's farm west of Lucknow.

HEAR MISSIONARY
BELGRAVE T h e Autumn
Thankoffering meeting of the NYht
man's Missionary Society of Knox
United Church was held on Thurs-
day evening in the church with
members of the W.M.S. societies
from Brick Church, Wingham, the
Evening Auxiliary, Knox Presby-
terian Church and the Trinity
Anglican Church as their guests.
Mrs. Williard Armstrong read
the Scripture and Mrs. George
Martin and Mrs, Leslie Bolt read
articles. Misses Sandra Chamney
and Janey Beecroft sang a duet,
accompanied by Mrs. Sidney
Thompson. Mrs. Walter Scott in-
troduced a tableau, put on by
members of the Evening Auxiliary,
which was to introduce the new
study book.
Mrs. D. S. MacNaughton, of
Wingham, gave a reading. Mrs.
Scott introduced the guest speaker,
Mrs. J, Anderson, of Atwood, a
former W.M.S. Missionary in Man-
itoba.
The following formed a double
trio and sang a number, Mrs.
Elaine Nixon, Mrs, Cameron Walsh
Mrs, Margaret Walsh, Mrs. Bill
Coultes, Mrs. George Johnston,
Mrs. Albert Bieman, accompanied
by Mrs. George Michie.
Mrs, J. H. Anderson thanked
the guest speaker and a hymn and
prayer closed the meeting. Dur-
ing lunch members from each of
the groups represented expressed
thanks for the pleasant evening,

DELMORE
The Belmore Dainty Dolls 4-H
Homemaking Club held their sec-
ond meeting at the Belmore W.I.
rooms on Saturday afternoon with
13 'girls answering the roll call,
"A thing I would appreciate in a
guest room". Mrs. Kieffer and
Mrs. Appleby led the discussion on
hospitality, invitations, guest
rooms and reference files. Record
book covers were decided upon and
invitation writing 'was practised.
Mrs. Ralph Dickson gave a demon-
stration on packing a week-end
'bag, It was decided' to meet again
on Thanksgiving afternoon at the
same place.
The third meeting was held on
Monday afternoon with 13 girls
answering the roll call, "The type
of reference file I have chosen".
The leaders outlined meal plan-
ning, table setting, table etiquette
and good conversation. Mrs, Kief-
fer gave a demonstration on table
setting and service. The members
then practised what they had
learned.
The next meeting is to be held
on Friday, Oct. 14th at 7.30 at the
Kieffer home.
