BLUEVALE---Mr. and Mrs. Wil-
liam Jenkins held open house to
over 50 relatives and friends on
Sunday, Sept 25th, at the home of
their son-in-law and daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. George Hetherington, on
the occasion of their 54th wedding
arniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins were mar-
ried on Sept. 26th, 1906, by Rev,
Dr, McLean, in Blyth. They lived
in the Blyth neighborhood until 14

Buried in West
BLUEVALE--Mrs. Susan Agnes
Owens, widow of the late Henry
C, Owens, died at the Wingham
General Hospital on Saturday,
Sept. 17th,
Mrs. Owens was a daughter of
the late Robert and Susan Mathers
and was born Sept. 9th, 1871, on
the first concession of Morris
Township. In March, 1899 she
married Henry Owens of Belgrave
and they homesteaded at Welwyn,
Sask. They celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary before 'his
death eleven years ago.
After her husband's death she
returned to Bluevale to live with
her brother and sisters. Two years
ago Mrs. Owens fractured her hip
in a fall and since that time had
been confined to the Wingham
Hospital.
Surviving are one brother, Henry,
and one sister, Jane, and several
nieces and nephews. She was pre-
deceased by three brothers, George,
Thomas and John, and three
sisters, Ann, her twin, and twins

There are fitteen grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren.

Adeline.
Funeral service was held at the
S. J. Walker funeral home in
Wingham on Monday of last week,
with Rev, W. R. Welsh of th(
Bluevale United Church in charge.
The body was flown to Welwyn
Sask., for service on Wednesday
and burial there. The body was
accompanied by her brother Henry
and her nephew, M. 0. Mathers,
George L. Bisbee
Dies in 83rd Year
A former resident of Wingham
George L. Bisbee, of Ingersoll, died
in Woodstock General Hospital
last week, Mr. Bisbee, who was in
his 83rd year, had been ill only a
week and his passing •came as a
shock to his family and his many
friends.
He was born in London Town-
ship, son of the late Mr. and Mrs,
George Bisbee. Be was accountant

Presides in Ripley
Mrs. Ted English, of Wingham,
presided at the sectional meeting
for the western division of the
W:M,S. of.Maitland Presbyterial,
held in Knox Presbyterian Church,
Ripley. Devotions Were conducted
by Mrs. Mel Ritchie and Mrs.
Cromey, of Icincardine, and Mrs,
Agnew, of Lucknow, Rev, Mr. Mc-
Combie, moderator• of Huron-Mait-
land, brought greetings from the
Presbytery.
The guest speaker, Rev, George
Malcolm, home on furlough from
Formosa, said that it was wonder-
ful to be back and to learn that
so many people have been faithful
in remembering the missionaries
and their work. Formosa is 250
miles by 75 miles and has about 11
million people who are served by
SO missionaries, The work is pro-
gressing and this year 1,000
students are registered at the Tam-
sui Middle School which is one p1
the schools supported by the
church,
Rev. Mr. Malcolm showed slides
of •Formosa and its people and
closed by saying that it is oui
responsibility to pray and to give
for the work that is only just
oeginning,

about fifteen years ago. He has re-
sided in Ingersoll since that time.
Mr. Bisbee was a life member and
a past master of the Wingham Ma-
sonic Lodge, No. 286, and a past
principal of the Royal Arch Ma-
sonic Lodge, Wingham. He was a
member of Trinity United Church,
Ingersoll.
Surviving are his wife, the form-
er Minnie Guest; three sons, Gord-
on, of Ingersoll; George, Delhi;
Elwood, Detroit, Mich,; a daughter,
Mrs. Sidney (Mildred) Coulson, of
London; a sister, Mrs, Charlotte
Waite, Detroit; eight grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren.
