Shirley Anne Brown
Wed at Clarkson
Shirley Anne Brown, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Wm, H. Brown
of Clarkson, former Wingham resi-
dents, became the bride of Charles
Richard DeLong on Saturday in
a double-ring ceremony which took
place at Christ Church, Clarkson.
The groom's parents are Mr. and
Mrs, C. B. DeLong of Rochester,
N.Y.
White gladioli and chrysanthe-
mums graced the church and Rev.
R. Oliver of Clarkson officiated
for the nuptials. The soloist, Miss
M. Wilson of 'Milton, sang "The
Wedding Hymn" and "The Voice
that Breathed o'er Eden", accom-
panied by the organist, Mrs. E,
Bates of Port Credit.
The bride's gown, was a waltz-
length frosted white-on-white bro-
cade, princess style with V neck-
line encrusted with seed pearls
and three-quarter length sleeves.
Her shoulder-length veil of tulle
illusion was caught by a crown of
seed pearls. She carried a bouquet
of white orchids and stephanotis
on a white Bible,
Her maid of honor, Miss Marlene
Chapman of Burlington wore a
waltz-length gown of wood violet
taffeta with orchid sash. It was
styled on princess lines. Her head-
'dress and shoes were matching
wood violet and she carried yellow
shasta mums. ,
The groom's sister, Miss Rachel
DeLong of Rochester, was brides-
maid and was attired in a waltz-
length orchid taffeta dress with
wood violet sash, orchid headpiece
and shoes, and carried yellow
shasta mums with white button
mums. Her gown wasalso princess
style.
The page was William Brown,
brother of the bride and the best
man was James MacKay of Ro-
chester. Ushers were William
Childs of Hamilton and Peter
Campbell, Toronto,
Guests from Rochester, Hamil-
ton, Toronto, Ottawa, Wingham,
Milton and Clarksson were present
and attended the reception in the
Marigold Room at Christ Church.
The mother of the bride wore a
lavender peau-de-soie gown with
wood violet hat and gloves and
black patent shoes and bag. She
wore an orchid corsage.
The groom's mother chose mauve
silk with matching accessories and
a corsage of yellow roses.
The young couple left on a wed-
ding trip to Algonquin Park and
will make their home in Rochester,
N.Y.
