Clubs in Wroxeter on Monday eve-
ning.
--John Crawford arrived here to
spend a long week-end with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. J, H. Craw-
ford, on Saturday, after several
months as student minister in •a
three-point charge in the Cypress
Hills district in Saskatchewan,

The Young Women's Auxiliary of
the United. Church met et the
home of Mrs, W, Caslick on Mon-
day evening With a7 members and
visitors present,
Mrs. Don McTaggart conducted
the worship service and Scripture
was read by Mrs. Lovell McGuire,
Mrs. MeTaggart introduced the
guest speaker, Mrs. Robert Ahara,
who gave the preliminary on the
new study book with her topic,
"The Tuiting World". The study
deals with the work of the World
Council of Churches in many coun-
tries and the changing pattern of
missionary work at the present
time.
Mrs, Caslick thanked the speak-
er and presented her with a small
gift.
The meeting was then turned
over to the president, Mrs. G. Gib,
son, The usual details were dealt
with and five thank you notes were
read, A letter was read from Mrs.
0, W. Tiffin, president of the
Huron Presbyterial, regarding the
Presbytery meeting in Wroxeter
United Church on October 17, Mrs.
Russell Zurbrlgg and Mrs. Caslick
were named as delegates, A
letter was read from Dr. and Mrs.
S, Leedham in appreciation to the
group for catering to their wedding.
The Auxiliary will supply the
cookies for the Baby Band tea,
which is to be held in the church
on October 29 . Mrs. Ed, McBurney
was appointed to telephone for
nursery during October. It was
decided to arrange for the certifi-
cates for two life memberships.
John left on Tuesday to begin his
second year's studies at Emmanuel
College.
--Mr. and Mrs, Slim Boucher
and family were guests over the
week-end with Mr, and Mrs. Nor-
man Cameron at their cottage at
Oliphant,
--Mrs. J. L, Mair returned -to her
home in Winnipeg last week after
a short time with members of her
family here. Mrs. Mair was call-
ed to Wingham for the funeral of
her sister, Mrs, Henrietta. MacDon-
ald.

Harriston visited on Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Merkley.

AT BAPTIST CHURCH
The September meeting of the
Evening Auxiliary of the Baptist
::hurch MiSsion Circle was held at

The Meeting opened with the
singing of the hymn "Sowing in the
vrorning", followed by prayer by

At Baptist Church
Large congregations attended
anniversary services in the Wing-
ham Baptist Church on Sunday,
when Rev, J, Peer of Stratford
was the guest minister. His text
in the morning_ was from II
Timothy, the subject being "Abol-
ition of Death". At the evening
service Rev, Peer spoke on "The
New Birth" from John 3.
Miss Yvonne White of Wood-
stock was the soloist in the morn-
ing. She sang "Down from His
Glory" and "It. May Be Today".
Mrs. Arno Kelly of Kincardine
sang two solos at night, "0 What
a Wonderful Saviour'. 'and "I Gave
My Heart to Jesus".

pearls held her waist-length veil
of French illusion and her bouquet
was white shasta mums, red roses
and trailing ivy. ,
