Dorothy Cook, who is to be mar-
ried on Saturday.
About a5 friends of the bride-
elect were present and enjoyed
making a bride's book and taking
part in a mock wedding.
After the bride received her gifts,
lunch was served by the hostess,
assisted by several friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Fiddes, Bill
and Bdb, of Brampton, spent the
holiday week-end with Mr. and
Mrs, Wilfred Brown.
Sunday visitors at the home of
Mr, and Mrs. Ronald McMichael
were Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Gress,
Kitchener, Mr. and Mrs. Noah Reis,
Fordwich, Mrs. Adam Hossfeld and
son, Norman, of Mildmay.

Jersey, are spending a few days

at a wedding ceremony Saturday,
when Joyce Eva May McKay and
Eric Winston West, both of Wing-
ham, exchanged marriage vows at
the United Church here. The bride
is the daughter of Mr, and Mrs.
Roderick McKay and the groom is
the son of Harry West, and the
late Mrs. West, all of Wingham.
For her wedding the bride chose
a bouffant ankle-length gown of
misty white nylon over pale blue
and she carried a bouquet of white
and pink carnations,
Attending the bride as matron of
honor, Mrs, Helen Fleury wore a
short dress of pink nylon, Sister of
the bride, Miss Delena McKay, was
bridesmaid. She wore a dress iden-
tical to the matron of honor, Both
attendants carried bouquets of pink
and white carnations.

Wed in London
A quiet Ceremony took place at
Blessed Sacrament Church, London,
on Saturday, August 27, when Adele
Peterson of London and Robert
Chettleburgh of Wingham exchang-
ed marriage vows, Father O'Don-
nell officiated,
The attendants were the bride's
sister, Miss Barbara Bollis of
London, ana the groom's brother,
Harry Ho Ward of Georgetown.
Mr. Chettleburgh is building a
new home at the foot of Alice
Street and hopes to have it ready
for occupancy in about six weeks.
They Will take up residence there
at that time.

BELGRAVE — Mrs. Clare Van-
Camp welcomed members of the
Ladies' Guild of Trinity Anglican
Church to her home for their regu-
lar meeting on Thursday afternoon,
The vice-president, Mrs. Alec
Nethery, was in charge and opened
the meeting with a hymn, followed
by prayer and the Lord's prayer In
unison. Mrs. Cooper Nethery read
the Scripture lesson.
It was announced that the an-
nual bazaar would 'be held early
in October in the arena and that
the Harvest Home church service
would be on September 25.
Mrs. Clark Johnston was con-
vener of the program which includ-
ed duet numbers by Betty Anne and
S'llirley Johnston, and a contest VS,
Mrs. Johnston. Rev, F. Mealey was
present and closed the meeting,
after which lunch was served by
the hostess.
Misses Mary Isobel Nethery and
Marilyn Campbell entertained the
children present and they enjoyed
games and races. They were served
hot dogs and pop.

and Mrs, Harvey McMichael dur-
ing the week-end and also visited
Mrs. Robt, McMichael, who, we
are sorry to report, is again a pa-
tient in Wingham General Hos-
pital. We hope for improvement
soon.
Mrs, Chas, MeCutcheon, accom-
panied by Mrs. Oliver Ridley and
children, of Brussels, spent last
Thursday at Boiler Beach near
Kincardine.
Mr. and Mrs, J. D. McGilvary,
Paisley, were Sunday visitors with
Mr. and Mrs. George Gibson.
Mr, George Allan, of Montreal,
Miss Sue Henry, of Hamilton, and
Mr. Ralph Thornycraft, also of
Hamilton, were guests this week

became the bride of Glen S. John-
ston, son of Mr, and Mrs. Sperling

aunt of the bride, was the organist.

The bride's father gave her in
marriage. She chose a waltz-length
gown of white organza over tat-
efta, with a lace Bertha collar. She
Wore lace mittens and carried pink
roses and white daisies.
Miss Jean McFarlane, of Brus-
sels, was maid of honor, arid Miss
Bonnie Pennington, Brussels, was
the flower girl, They wore identical
dresses of white organza over net
with blue embroidered flowers, blue
einninerbunds with bows and ties,
and matching blue bats.
The bridesmaids, Miss ...lean Car-
pato, and Mr. and Mre. Jack Edgar,
Kitchener, were week-end visitors
with Mr. and Mrs, Harvey Coup-
land.
Mrs. Allan Shoemaker, of Sask-
atchewan, and Mrs. Orie Shoemak-
er, of Gowanstown, visited one day
last' week with their aunt, Mrs. V,
Brothers.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Demerling, of
Neustadt, called on MN. and Mrs.
Wilfred Brown on Sunday while
they were in the vicinity and also
called at the Wroxeter cemetery
where a niece, Mrs. Harry Dane, is
buried.
Mr. and Mrs, Ross Coates spent
the holiday week-end with their
son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and
Mrs. Lloyd Mapletaft, Milibrook.
Master Ronald Mapletoft returned
home after spending the past three
weeks with his grandparents here.

week with her son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Mow-

Murray Johnston, of Bluevale,
was best man, and Kenneth John-
ston, brother of the groom, and Bill
Wright, brother of the bride, were
ushers.
Mrs. Wright, wearing a soft blue
crepe ensemble and a pink corsage,
received the guests at the reception
in the church parlors. She was as-
sisted by the groom's mother, who
also wore blue and a pink corsage.
Guests were present from Toron-
to, Hespeler, Ripley, Wyoming,
Lambeth, and the surrounding dis-
trict.
For, their wedding trip to North-
ern 'Ontario the bride wore a to-
mato red sheath dress, black duster
coat, white hat arid black acees-
sories and a corsage of white car-
nations. They will reside on the
groom's farm on the second line of
Morris.
