vin McIntyre in Winghatn. Alan
and Elizabeth, who had been at
Ridgetown, returned home for the
week-end and then accompanied
the Mentyres back to Ridgetown
for a longer holiday.
Mrs. D. Willis visited on. Sunday
with her mother, Mrs. Musgrove,
at Wroxeter.
Mrs, Walter Lott returned home
last week after spending the past
three months with her son, Mr.
Robert Lott, at Calgary, and all
spent a vacation in Victoria, B.C.
A two-year-old Holstein heifer
was killed Mat Monday on the
railroad tracks west of Elmer
Sleightholm's lane crossing. All
inquiries In this district proved fu-
tile, and the Elmira truck remov-
ed the body on Saturday. Five
young cattle were killed near Mr.
Gibbons' farm this spring and Mr.
Robert Soloman had one killed last
week when his cattle got on the
track. William Pardon lost a
cattle beast from lightning one day
last week.

Wingham and Mr. and Mrs. George
Tiffin, Lucknow, visited with Mr.

Ruttan's 76th birthday.
After the evening meal Mr. Rut-
tan was presented with a Bible and
a box of chocolates, the gift from
his wife and family. There were 26
in, attendance.
Albert Wright

GOI'llRIE- -Albert (Bert) Wright
died Stleiday afternoon in the Han-
over Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Howick Township be was
a son of the late Mr. and Mg's.
Charles Wright. He farmed on con.
17, Howlek, until retiring to Gorrie
a few years ago.
He was a member of the United
Church.
His wife, the former Eva Gal-
braith predeceased him some four
years ago. Surviving are one daugh-
ter, Mrs. Harold arene) Huth,
Ayton; two sisters, Mrs, 1Vfargar'et
Haskins, Howick; Mrs. Archie
Winkle, Brussels. There are seven
grandchildren.
The body is at Roluf's funeral
home, Clifford, until Wednesday
when service will be held in the
Gorrie United Church, at 2.30 p.m.
Interment in Gorrie Cemetery.

visiting at the home of Mr, and
Mrs, Anson Huttan.

attended the Elmira Fair on -Mon-

ed home after holidaying with Mr.

Mrs. Percy Ashton, who has been
a patient in the Listowel Hospital
is now improving and may be able
to return to her home at the end
of the week,

TAKE BUS TRIP
GORRIE—Thirty-two ladies• went
on the WI ibus trip on Friday and
were driven to places of interest
and beauty in Stratford, Wood
stock, Brantford and St.,George.
In Woodstock they visited Silver-
woods and saw the different pro-
cesses in making Silverwood's. new
Handirnilk, a, pasteurized powdered
milk. Picnic lunch was eaten at
Southside Park,
At Brantford calls were made at
the Mohawk Institute and the Mo-
hawk Chapel, the first church built
in Canada, which is 175 years old.
A visit was also made to the resi-
dence of Graham Bell, inventor of
the telephone. This borne is kept
as a museum with furniture used
at that time.
They returned home by way of
Kitchener where the ladies had
dinner.
