Her finger-tip veil of hand-rolled
French tulle illusion fell from a
small crown of seed pearls and
drop crystals, and her flowers were
a 'cascade of yellow Elizabeth
roses, white feathered carnations
and stephantois entwined with
myrtle. She wore a single strand of
pearls and matching earrings, a
gift of the groom,
Miss Mary Gibbons, Wingham,
cousin of the groom, acted as maid
of honour, and Miss Joan Marriott,
St. Marys, aws bridesmaid. They
were gowned alike in pale yellow
silk organza over taffeta, the
dresses featuring tiny capped
sleeves, tucked bodices, 'pleated
'cummerbunds and ballerina
length skirts. They wore picture
hats of matching silk organza and
carried colonial nosegays of bronze
poms and yellow feathered car-
nations.
The little flower girls were Diane
Sgariglia, Orillia, niece of the bride,
and :Cathy White, Wingham, niece
of the groom. They wore dresses of
pale yellow organza with pleated
cummerbunds and short, bouffant
skirts, matching headbands, and
carried dainty basket arrangements
of bronze poms and yellow shasta
chrysanthemums.
Groomsmen were Gerald Brophy.
brother Of the groom, and William
Johnston, both of Wingham. The
ushers were John Fairbrother, St.
Marys, and Barry Fryfogle, Wing-
ham.
For the reception which followed
at the.Stratford Country Club, the
bride's mother received the guests
in an Alice blue sheath of brocads
ad 'pure silk organza, matching
blue halo hat and other accessories
and her corsage was of Lestra Hib-
bard roses. The groom's mother
also received, wearing a gown of
powder blue silk shantung styled
with a shawl collar, matching blue
hat and accessories and wearia;
corsage of Pink Sixteen roses.
For travelling, the bride donned
an oyster white walking suit of
wool boucle. Her flowered cloche
hat and other accessories were in
matching tones and she wore a cor-
sage of yellow chrysanthemums.
In addition to St. Marys and
Wingham, guests were present from
Detroit, Toronto, Orillia, Teeswater
and London.
ST. HELENS
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bramhall,
of Waterdown, were week-end
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lorne
Woods.
Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Woods who
were twenty-five years married on
August 24th, celebrated the occasion
with a dinner at Tiger Dunlop Inn
on Saturday evening 'with the fam-
ily and a few friends present. Con-
gratulations and best wishes,
Congratulations also to Mr, and
Mrs. Fred 1VIcQuillin on their sil-
vet wedding anniversary on Sun-
day. The occasion was celebrated
with a family picnic supper.
Friends called in the evening,
Sister Cornelius and SiSter Vin-
centia of the Sacred Heart Con-
vent, London, spent Sunday with
their brothers, the Forans, at their
home here.
Mrs. Will MacGregor, of Stettler,
Alta., and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mac-
Gregor, of Kincardine, were recent
guests of Mr. and Mrs. George
Mir es Janet (daunt, of Hanover
spent the week-end with her par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell. Gaunt.
Mr. and- Mrs. Eric Elliott and
family, of Ottawa, are visiting this
week with Mr. and Mrs. Gaunt and
with other Currie families here.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lewis and
family, of Wingham, visited, on
Sunday with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Cook, of Eelgrave. His
parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Lewis,
of Lucknow., 'are visiting this week
at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Doug-
las Fry, of Iroquois,
Mr .and. Mrs. Kenneth Johnston,
of Clinton, spent last week with
his ,nareats, Mr. and Mrs. Oerehorn
Johnston, helping with the thresh-
ing. Their daughters, Marilyn and
Debbie, visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Ritchie.
Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Falconer and .
Lois visited on Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs. Calvert Falconer, of
Blyth.
Mr. and Mrs. Angus Falconer and
Alan spent Sunday with relatives
at Sarnia, Mr. and Mrs, Relison
Falconer and children, of Sarnia,
visited with his parent, Mr. and
Mrs. Cecil Falconer, and the child-
ren stayed to spend this week
here,
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Sleightholm
and family visited on 'Sunday with
her mother, Mrs. Robert Bolton, of
Teeswater.

Miss Beverley Gaunt has secured
a Position at the Western Univer-
sity, London, starting this week.
Miss Norma Forster started work
a few weeks ago at St. Joseph's
Hospital. Both girls graduated from
Welles Academy, London, this
year. We wish them success in
their work.
Ft. Lt. and Mrs. Keith Black, of
Ottawa, were week-end visitors
with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Mac-
Pherson, On their return they were
accompanied by their sons David,
Freddy, Gordon and Kevin, who
have spent the summer here.
Mr. and Mrs. G. S. McIntyre
and Donald, of Richmond Hill,
were week-end visitors with Mr.
and Mrs. W. I. Miller.

solemnized Saturday at eleven
o'clock in Holy Name Church, St.
Marys, when Norma Helene Kap-
pier; only daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur Kappler, St. Marys, was
united sin marriage to Desmond Pa-

Mrs..,Joseph Brophy and the late
Mr. Brophy. Rev. Fr. G. J. Freker,
pastor. of Sacred Heart Church,
Wingham, performed the ceremony
and said the nuptial mass which
followed. Also present on the san-
dtuary, were Very Rev. P. 'J. Har-
rigan, pastor of Holy Name Church,
and Rev. R. Durand, Dublin. Master
Johi-L,White, Wingham, nephew of
the groom, was among the altar
beys Serving on the altar.
Miss Marykae Newman, Wing-
ham, was soloist and before the
ceremony sang "Veni Jesu". During
mass; 'she rendered Schubert's "Ave
