marriage vows with John Albert

double ring ceremony. The bride
is the only daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Mervyn Pipe, R. R. 4, Brus-
sels, and the bridegroom is the
only son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Coultes, of Whitechurch,
Rev, J. H. Greene was the of-
ficiating minister. Mrs. Lyle Bro-
thers, of Scarborough,, played the
wedding •music and aecompanied
the soloist, Douglas Stewart, cous-
in of the bride, who sang "The
Wedding Prayer," "The Lord*
Prayer," and "0, Perfect Love."

The bridesmaids, Miss Marjorie
Coultes, Reg.N., of Wingham, sis-
ter, ,of the 'bridegroom, and Mrs.
William Scott, of Dunnville, cousin
of the bride, wore dresses styled
identically to that of the maid of
honor, but in aqua and their
flowers were pink tinted •mums.
Paul Groskorth, of Toronto, was
groomsman, and the ushers were
Keith Moffatt, 'Bluevale, and John
Pipe, 'brother of the •bride.
For the reception at the church
and later at the home of the 'bride,
the bride's mother received wear-
ing French blue lace over chrom-
spun, side draped with matching
accordion pleated sash and white
accessories and a corsage of pink
carnations.
. Asissting, the bridegroom's'
mother chose a sheath of rose
beige embroidered silk organza, a
matching three-quarter length
coat and a corsage of yellow
mums,
The wedding dinner was arrang-
ed 'by the Young Women's Guild
of the chtirch and served by Miss'
Margaret Jamieson, Wingham;
Miss Jean Forrest, London; Miss
Yvonne Majury, Paisley; Miss
Jeazi Scott, Seaforth; Miss Dar-
lene Brothers, Scarborough; Misses
Betty and Shirley Hunter, Ripley,
and Miss Ruth Coultes, of East
Waw'anosh.
F6r her -wedding trip. to the
Southern States the bride donned a
two-piece sheath ensemble in mint
green, rose hat with white acces-
sories and pink'corsage. On their
return the -couple will live in
Wingham. ,

the road committee meetings of the
County Council with the Hon. Fred
Cass, Minister of Highways, in God-
erich, Monday at twelve noon and
also in Walkerton at 4 p.m.

her parents, Mr. and Mrs, Harry
Angus.
—Mr, and Mrs, Wilford Caslick
and family attended the Imperial
Life family picnic at Springbank
Park, London, on Tuesday after-
noon.
—Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Fielding
and Mrs. George Cameron spent
the week-end in New Liskeard the
guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. E.
Sutton, While there they attended
the golden wedding celebration of
ex-Mayor John H. Sumbler and
Mrs. Sumbler.
--Miss Trudy Allen has been visit-
ing during the past week with Mr.
and Mrs. Ross Hilbert, of Guelph.
—Mrs. J. J, Train, of Toronto, is
3-Day Conference
At Baptist Church
Rev, and Mrs. William Large
were the speakers during a three-
day missionary conference at Wing-
ham Baptist •Church, which com-
menced on Sunday. Mr. Large was
a supply minister here for a few
months several years ago, and is
remembered by many in the com-
munity.
The couple is with the Associa-
tion of Baptists for World Evangel-
ism Mission, and are engaged in
River Evangelidm and Bible Insti-
tute work. They have spent nine
years in Peru and their work ex-
tends •along 3,000 miles of the Ama-
zon River. They have three sons,
the younger two being •born in
Peru. Rev. and Mrs. Large will re-
turn to the mission field when their
furlough expires, about January.
The conference has been very
educational and interesting to the
congregation here. Mr. Large has
shown many pictures of their work
in Peru and has held question and
answer periods, when the people
were able to better acquaint them-
selves with mission work and needs.
The closing session on Tuesday
evening was edvoted to the ladies
of the Mission Circles, when Mrs.
Large was able to inform them of
the many items needed in the field
and explain how to pack bales,
etc.
Their three children were with
them during their visit to Wing-.

Past Presidents
Honored Tonight
The Ladies' Auxiliary to the
Canadian Legion has a special
evening planned for the regular
meeting night on Wednesday, in
the form of a Past Presidents'
Night.
The Auxiliary has purchased a
plaque on which the names •of the
ten past presidents have been in-
scribed, The tablet will 'be un-
veiled at the meeting and will -be
fore the meeting. They are Mrs.
Wally Armstrong, Mrs. A. aVI.
Forbes, Mrs, Charles Coultes, of
Belgrave, Mrs, Harry Town, Mrs.
George Ross, Mrs. Vance Sander-
son, Mrs. Ernie Lewis, Mrs. Stew-
art Forsyth and Mrs. Dave Croth-
ers, The members will pay tribute
to the memory of Mrs. William
Hamilton, the only deceased past
president,

RETURN TO STATES
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rogers and
their three children, Marlene, Jean
and David, were honored at the
close of a, meeting in the Baptist
Church on Monday evening. The
Rogers family will leave on Thurs-
day of this week to take up resi-
dence in New York State.
Mr. and Mrs, Rogers formerly
lived in the United -States. They
moved to Wingham about two years
ago and have been active workers
in the church.
Reg, Collar, on behalf of the
church, -presented Mr. and Mrs.
Rogers with a chest of flatware
and each of the children received a
New Testament from Frank Collar,
who acted on behalf of the Sunday
School. The recipients expressed
their 'gratitude, and during the
social period, when lunch was ser-
ved, had an opportunity to mingle
with members of the congregation
and bid farewell.

home of Mrs. E. A. VanStone. Mr.
and Mrs, J. 0. Spence, of Grimsby,
spent last Wednesday at the same
home.
ACCIDENT IN KiNtOSS
BYO .LOSE LIVES
TWO OTHERS INJURED
Mrs. Harry Bolger, 60, and her
daughter, Miss Rose Marie Bolger,
20, of Walton, died as a result of
a head-on collision one mile east
of Kinlough, in Kirileas Township
on Friday.
Mrs. Bolger died almost instant-
ly of aa broken neck, and her
daughter, who was taken to Wing-
ham flospltal and later to Victoria
Hespital, London, died about 5 a.m.
Saturday, Miss Bolger suffered a
broken pelvis, broken leg, six
broken ribs and severe facial and
leg cuts. She was the driver of the
car.
A passenger in the same vehicle
was Mrs. James Bolger, She Is in
satisfactory condition, having re-
ceived leg cuts and shock.
The driver of the second car,
Stuart IViaoGillivray, 51, R. R. 3,
Holyrood, is in serious condition
in Victoria Hospital, suffering a
broken leg and severe facial •cuts,
The cars met on the crest of a
hill about 5.30 p.m, To remove Mr,
MacGillivray from the wreckage it
the school when the accident oc-
curred,
A double funeral was held on
Tuesday from the family home with
-burial in Brussels -cemetery. Rev.
Kenneth Jagges, of St. John's
Anglican Church, Brussels, offici-
ated.
COUPLES' CLUB MET
AT TURNBERRY PARE
Thirteen couples enjoyed an even-
ing of sports at Turnberry Park
on Monday, when the United
Church Couples' Club met for the
final meeting until fall. Mr. and
Mrs. Bill King, Mr. and Mrs. Don
McKay, Rev, and Mrs. T. G. Hue-
ser, Mr, and Mrs. Ross Vogan and
Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Shackleton
were in charge.
George Guest and Wilford Caslick
were the team captains for soft-
ball. Mr. Guest's team came out on
top of a 16-12 score, but both
sides worked up a good appetite
and Mr. and Mrs. Guest, Rev. arid
Mrs. Husser came to their aid over
the barbecue. They served ham-
burgers with all the trimmings, in
the picnic area, which was lit with
gas lanterns,
During the short business session,
it was decided to make a donation'
to the Turnberry Park fund. To
concluded a pleasant evening, the
Club remembered Rev, and Mrs.
Husser with a gift as a 25th an-
niversary present. Their wedding
anniversary is the latter part of
next week.
Blyth Resident
Injured in Crash
.An accident, four miles south of
Creditors on Friday, resulted from
a collision 'between cars driven by
Donelda Lewis, of R. R. 3, Ailsa
Craig, and Christopher Hutchison,
R. R. 3, Blyth. Neither driver was
injured.
A passenger in the Hutchison
vehicle, William Brown, 62, of
Blyth, suffered a fractured collar-
bone, and 'broken ribs. He was
confined to the South Huron Mem-
orial -Hospital, Exeter, but was re-
leased• at the week-end.

Mrs. Bolger was a daughter of
the late Russel Richmond' and
Sarah Searle and was born in
Morris Township in 1900. She is
survived by her husband; a son,
James, of Grey Township; a daugh-
ter, Mrs. Gordon Engle, of Oran
brook, and a brother, Mervin
Richmond, of Blyth.
