Real hot sill-Miler weather mark 'd the wedding day of Mr. and vIrs, Herb. Wheeler, who were narried on the evening of June 19th, 1910. The bride of 00 years 'go was• the former Pearl Procter,. laughter of the late Mr, and Mrs. George Procter and was born in Morris Township. Mr, Wheeler was born in Morris Township, the son of the late Mr, and Mrs. Charles Wheeler. The ceremony took place at the home of the bride's parents, an the 4th concession of Morris Township, where the couple exchanged mar- riage vows before Rev. J, Cook, Methodist Minister, assisted by Rev. W. Ferguson, Presbyterian .pastor. Recalling some of the 'details of the wedding, Mrs. Wheeler said, "We were' married in the evening of June 29, and like most ' other couples of that particular period we had no wedding trip." They simply settled down in their .home in l3elgrave, where Mn Wheeler was happily engaged in carpentry, having his own shop on the main street of Belgrave, Mrs, Wheeler added that they had a lovely trip to Victoria, B,C., later years in their life, making up for their wedding trip. Both are keenly interested in community activities, and have taken part in these things up- till the past year, when their health failed. Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler are mem- bers of Knox United Church and it is only the past feW years that they have been unable to attend services regularly. Mr. Wheeler is a member of Canadian Order of Foresters, and Mrs. Wheeler is a life Member of the Woman's Mis- sionary Society and also a -Mem- ber of the Institute. They have three children, Mrs:, Wilfred (Velma) Pickell, of Ham- ilton, Goldie, of London, and Ken- neth, of R. R. 1, Belgrave. They have seven grandchildren. Marie. The evening was spent in friend- ly conversation and music, With Miss Christiana McClinton, of God- erich, at the piano. Relatives were there from BelgraVe, Goderich, Exeter and Blyth. Lunch was served by the hostess and a very enjoyable evening was brought to a close. •At BELGRAVE. — The second an- nual Hopper reunion was -held at the -Stone School on Sunday after- noon, with about 60 members pre- sent from Kitchener, Exeter, Brus- sels, Wingham, Seaforth, Goderich, Neustadt and Belgrave. Games were' enjoyed and a so- cial time spent. Plans were made for a reunion to be held next year at the same place on the last Sunday in June. Officers appointed are: Presi- dent, Lyle Hopper; secretary- treasurer, Clayton Procter; lunch committee, Mrs. Charlie Hopper, Mrs, Hugh Carmichael, Mrs. Frank- Hopper. A bounteous sup- per was served. Mrs, C. Procter read the minutes and the financial state- ment showed a balance of $223.18. A card- of thanks was read from the Belgrave Boy Scouts for the donation of money that the WI had given them. The group receiVed arid aecepted an invitation to a picnic meeting, from the Goderich WI on August 4. Members Were reminded of the Achievement Day at the Londes- boro hall oh July 8, for the pro- ject "Meat in the Menu". The ap- plication for the short course "Aids to Effective Speaking," is being considered .by the Depart- ment, and will be held in the fall. The president expressed thanks to all 'who helped with the display at the district annual at Londes- boro and to Mrs. Clifford Logan, Family Picnic for convener. Mrs. Kenneth Wheeler reported for the Wolf Cubs on the Winnipeg Couple work they have done on the flower beds at the cemetery. The following ladies were named to invite the young mothers of the community to the August -meeting which will be a picnic meeting: Mrs. Stewart Procter, Mrs, Garner Nicholson, Mrs. James Michie, Mrs. Kenneth Wheeler, Mrs. Walter Scott, Mrs. Stanley Black and Mrs. Clifford Logan. Mrs. Harold Procter was con- vener of the health program and 16 members answered the roll call with a home remedy. Mrs. Garner Nicholson gave the motto. Mrs. George Michie played a medley of songs on the piano, The address was given by N. Kuchma from the Wing-ham branch of the Niagara Cyclo Massage, explaining its use by films. There was a • good number of gifts -brought to this meeting for cancer patients. Lunch was served by Mrs. Gordon Higgins, Mrs. Nelson Higgins and Mrs. Harold Procter, DONNYBROOK Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Josling, Kenneth, Paul and Betty, -of Lon- clesboro, visited Mr. arid Mrs. Wesley Jefferson and Debbie on Sunday. BELGRAVE—Mr, and Mrs. Mark Armstrong were pleasantly sur- prised on Sunday at the home of their son and- daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs, Tom Armstrong, on the 9th concession of West Wawan- osh, Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong's former home. The occasion was their 40th. wedding anniversary. Mrs. Armstrong was the former Ellen Thompson, daughter of the late Mr, and Mrs. William Thomp- son, of Auburn, and Mr. Armstrong is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Armstrong of the 9th of West Wawanosh. Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong haVe three children, Mrs. Mel (Donna) Craig, of Bluevale; Mrs. John (Mary) Taylor, R.
