Mrs. 0. Popp, district president
of the Women's Institute, was
guest speaker at the regular Meet-
ing of the Wingham Branch on
'June 16, taking as her subject "An
:Ideal Institute Member"- Blyth
Branch members were also guests.
Mrs. McLaughlin gave tbeimotto
"A Salute to Grandmotbers"., The
roll call was answered with "Sortie-
thing we have our grandmothers
did not have,"
Mrs. MacNaughton, gave two•
readings. Miss Mary Robertson
and Miss Judy Bitton sng two
duets accoMpanied by Mfrs, Don
Robertson, who also played two
accordion solos,
Two films were shown. The
hostesses were, Mrs, L. Fortune,
Miss I. Fortune, Mrs, W. 'Si-oldie
and Mrs. J. Walker,

MEETS. AT 'ELMORE
A. full, executive meeting of the
lVfaitldnd Presbyterial of the WMS
of the Presbyterian Church was
held .Thursday in .laelmore, - The
meeting was' opened with devotions
by Mrs, Ballagh, of Teeswater, and
Mrs. Fortune, of Wingham,
Mrs. J. Pollock, of Teeswater,
gave an excellent report of the
Youth Conference held in St.
Thomas. Almost 200 attended, en-
joying the fellowship of studying
and, worshipping together, The
need on every -mission, field is so
great and the mission board is
handicapped-by lack of funds and
workers. •
It was voted to have two sec-
tional meetings in the fall. -One-will
be held in Ripley in September and
one in Bluevale in October. It was
moved to send a letter of appreci-
ation to Miss Margaret Boyd, the
retiring regional secretary.

Michie Reunion
Held Saturday
BELGRAVE,• Fifty persons were
in attendance at the seventh an-
nual Michie reunion held on Sat-
urday at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Crosby. All preaent
enjoyed: games-, races, a ,peanut
Scramble, and social chat. A boun-
teous' dinner was served at noon,
and. at that time the president and
secretary-treasurer, Mn• and Mrs.
Les Wills, gave their !. reports.

Dies at Age96
The former Henrietta Sutton,
eldest daughter and last surviv-
ing member of the fa-miry of the
late William B. Sutton and Har-
riet Kain, died at her home in
London, on Thursday, June 9th,
Mrs. Agnew was born in Tipper-
ary County, Ireland. She spent
her childhood Wingham and
attended Zetland -School. She had
been a residerif.OrLondon most of
her life, and w4,4"anember of the
L ondon O-ospel*Ternple. Mrs. Ag-
new had been in good health until
ten days before ,her death, when,,
she contacted a severe cold, .
Her husband, John Agnew, died
in. 1928, and the five brothers and
a sister who predeceased her were
Richard, William, George, Samuel
and Charles Sutton and Elizabeth.
She is survived by a daughter,
Miss Edith Agnew, at home; three
sons, Herbert B., Arthur S., and
Ernest V., all of.London; a grand-
son, William H. Agnew of Ottawa
and three great-gramichildren.
Rev. Ronald Emmons of London
Gospel Temple conducted the fun-
eral service with burial in Wood-
land Cemetery.

WHITECHURCH--The W.M.S.
meeting of Calvin-Brick Church
was held at the home of Mrs.
John Jamieson on Thursday. There
were.15 ladies present.
Mrs. Gordon McBurney opened
the meeting with the theme, "Faith
in Action". She spoke on "Inte-
gration not Segregation", and said
the place to start is right at,home.
Mrs. MeBurney read the Scrip-
ture from Matthew and a ;hymn
was sung. Mrs. Charles Shiell
read an article, "The Lost Oppor-
tunity" and Mrs. Roy Pattison
read "Small Branches Bear the
Most Fruit",
Mrs. John Currie read of Dr.
Watt's Work in Bella Coola.
hymn was read as a prayer and
silent -prayer was offered for the
ladies on either side of each in-
dividual, The missionary prayer
was said for Miss Violet Lang-
land.
Mrs. Gordon MeBurney read a
poem, "The Useful Man". The
offering was taken and Mrs. Shiell
gave the offertory prayer. Mrs.
Norman Coultes conducted the
business and the .minutes were
read and adopted. Mrs. Lawrence
Taylor said another bale would be
sent and reported what could be
used for the bale.
Mrs, Shiell reported the success
of the bake sale, amounting to
nearly $80. The ladies are invited
to St. Helens on June 23 to.a tea,
The induction of the minister,
Rev. Anderson, will be on June
30. Mrs. Norman Coultes closed
the meeting with the benediction.
Communion service will be held
in Calvin-Brick Church on Sun-
day at 10 am,

The .Tune meeting of the Even-
ing, Auxiliary Mission CirCle of
the Baptist Church was held
Thursday evening at the home of
Mr, and Mrs', Glenn Scheifele. The
meeting also took the form of the
annual picnic. Fonotving an en-
poyable supper the monthly meet-
ing ensued,
The opening hymn 'He leadeth
me', was followed by a season of
prayer. Participating were Mrs.
J, Hildebrand, Mrs, Frank Rogers
and Mrs. Donald Sinclair. The
ladies agree to hold their July
Meeting on June 28 and to join
with the Senior Mission Circle,
The meeting is to be held in the
church and everyone is cordially
invited to hear the special speak-
ers, Rev, and Mrs. William Large
of South America,
Mrs. George Hotchkiss was nam-
ed convener for the hospital sew-
ing replacing Mrs, Frank Rogers,
Who is moving to the States shptt-
ly. The meeting voted to give Mr.
and Mrs. Large a gift of $20.00 to
be -added to the special offering.
Mrs. Bruce MacLean, the president,
ielesed the meeting with prayer.

men's Institute attended a birth-
day party at the Huron County
Home on Wednesday afternoon,
Mrs. H. Burrell presided. The
program consisted of singing old
songs and Mrs. Th, S, MaeNaugh-
ton pare two readings. Mrs. Horace
Aitchison sang two solos and Mrs. H. Currie favored with, two whist-
ling numbers,
