Too Many Roads
The report of the county made-
committee strucka pessimistic
note when it was stated that, some-
needed improvements to county
roads will have to wait at least
ten years, unless the total mileage
is decreased Or the mill rate sub-
stantially increased. The report
stated that the present 390 miles-
of road for which the county is
responsible, is too much for the
assessment cif 60 million dollars,
and added that some of the lesser
travelled roads will not be improv-
ed for 20 years at the 'present rate
of progress,
The report also carried the In-
formation that the development
road at present under reconstruc-
tion from Elyth to Dunlop, will not.
be completed until next year, in
order to permit the granular base
in some sections to settle before
paving is added. This year, will
see the paving of the road from
Dunlop to a. point nt miles east
of Auburn,
The road committee Will shortly
meet the minister of highways to
seek designation of County Road
12 as a development road. This
road extends 30 miles from Sea-
forth to Belmore.
