ter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Finnigan became the bride
of Mr. Clifford Hackett, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Alex Hackett of Wing-
ham. Rev. A. E. Eustace officiated.
They were attended by Mr. and
Mrs. Chester Hackett of Ashfield.
The happy couple reside in the
former Walker home, south of the
Maitland bridge in Turnberry.

WHITECHURCH— Robert Laid-
law, ,superintendent of the United
Church Sunday School, 'presided on
Sunday for the 'special Mother's
Day program. Ronald Beceroft
and Bevin Tiffin read the Scrip-
ture passages. The junior choir of
19 of the Sunday School pupils
sang, "All Things - Bright and
Beautiful".
Arthur Laidlaw told the story,
"God Setteth the 'Solitary in Fam-
ilies", .comparing the family to the
hand, where , the mother, in toueh
with each and 'all of the family
is the thumb, the father, pointing
and Showing the s way, the index
finger, and the, other fingers the
smaller members, of the family.
Each lorks to help the other, can
carry a load, and can reach a hand
to share a sorrow, or draw others
into the circle; like a community
where each work's for the good
of •all.
Garnet Farrier and Wayne sang,
"Mother's Prayers Have Followed
Me", and Mr. (A. H. Neelon gave
a splendid address on the necessity
of love and co-lieration of each in
the honie; so that' each Will 'grow
to know his value, and position
and contribution to the home, com-
munity and world.
Rev. Geiger officiated on Thurs-
day afternoon for the funeral of
Joseph Edward Moore, held from
the McLennan and MacKenzie
funeral home in Lucknow. Inter-
ment was in the Wingham. ceme-
tery, ' The pallbearers were John
Wraith, Russel Caunt, Edward Mc-
Clenaghan, Garnet Farrier, William
Henry and Alex. Inglis.
• Mr. Moore was 51, He ,had been
upatietit Winghalt Hospital' for
six weeks, after a heart seizure,
and had only returned home .on
Sunday. He died at his home in
Lucknow on Tuesday, May 3rd, •
He was a son of Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur Moore, West Wawanosh,
and' his, wife was the former Jane
Young of Langside, whom he mar-
ried on May 24, 1934. Besides his
wife and parents, he is survived
by a son and four' daughters, Fred-
erick, Rena, Phyllis and Shirley, all
of Wingham, and Doris, 14, at
home, .
He is also survived by three
brother's and three sisters, Russell
of Preston, Stanley of Woodstock,
Charles•of Whitechurch, Mrs. Basil
Thompson, Preston, Mrs. 'Walter
James, Woodstack and Mrs. Kell
Dickson of Behnore, and one
grandson,t Blaine Moore of Wing-
harn.
Mr: Moore was a member of the
United Church and his occupation
was farming.
