Mrs.. Fred Craik
Lived in Gorrie
GORRIE—Many frienils here will
be saddened to • know that Mrs.
Myrtle Eva Craik, 'widow of the
late Rev. Fred Craik, minister of
the Gorrie United Church from
1925-1931 passed away *March 23rd
at Kentville, Nova Scotia. One
son, Norman; of Xentville survives.
Burial was in the family plot,
Mount Royal Cemetery, Montreal.

Dies in .Saskatoon
GORRIP—Word has been receiv-
ed here of the death of William
Edwards of Saskatoon, Saskatche-
wan,., on, ,April lath. He was *- a
former resident of Fordwich, going
to the West some 50 years age,
where he was a funeral director
'far many years.
His wife, the former Etta McGill-
of Garde, predeceased him several
Years ago. A son Arnold and a
daughter survive, both in Saska-
toon,, also four sisters and one.

the meeting with quiet music,
Mrs. Gerald 'Galbraith, president,
was in ,eharge of the meeting.
Psalm 747 was read responsively,
Mrs, H. Hamilton gave the mission-
ary prayer. The story of "The
Thankoffering, going the Second
Mile" was given by Mrs. Galbraith;
Mrs. C. Pyke gave a review of
the study . hook, "Africa Disturb-
ed." Africa has advanced very
fast in many ways and the people
aro living under nervous strain.
Mrs. Btirrell will be gnat speak-
er for the jutie meeting,. Mrs. A.
Stephens and Mrs. X Adtuns gave
a very informative question and
answer period on the .New Wo-
men's Organization to begin by
January, 1902. Lunch was served
by the committee in charge.

Was Gorrie Agent
GORRIE—XnoWlSort Elliott, of
Grimsby Beach ,passed away in the
Grimsby Hospital on Tuesday,
May 4th at the age of 16. He krrld
been in poor health tar some time,
but Vs last illness was short.
He was born in Howick Town-
ship and his boyhood was spent in
Gorrie, He was a Son at the late
James Elliott and. Catharine Hues-
ton. •Employed with the C.P.R. he
was divisional freight agent and
had resided in various western
points including Calgary and Win-
nipeg, also in New Brunswick and
in Montreal. Following his re-
tirement he resided at Grimsby
Beach. lie was a member of the
Anglican Church there, and of the
Masonic Order,
His wife survives, also one son
James, Edmonton, Alberta; one
daughter Mrs, Frock
ronto, and one sister, Mrs. Mae
Elakeney, Toronto.
Funeral service was at Grimsby
on Thursday evening and burial
was In Carrie cemetery on Friday
at 2.30 p.m.' with the Rev. Neil
Williams of Harriston in charges
Members of the A,F. and A.M. con-
ducted graveside service.
Pallbearers were John King,
Norman 'Carson; Dick Carson, Ar-
thur Gibson, James Elliott and
Brock Rideout.

GORR1E—The Howick 4-I1 Calf
Club held- its second meeting last
Wednesday at the farm of Ron
McMichael on the ninth concession,
There was a, perfect attendance.
Doug Miles, agriculturali repres-
entative for Huron County was a
guest. He was accompanied .by
Gerry Chamberlain, student as-
sistant, who spoke on dairy calf
feeding. He also listed the good
points to be looked for in a good
dairy cattle.
Refreshments were served In the
house at. the close of the meeting.

mayor of Essex and Lillian Rivers
were united in marriage by the
Rev. Gray Rivers, brother of the

The bride is a daughter of the
late Rev. W. W. G. Rivers, a
former miniattre of the Methodist
Church In Gorrie; and Mrs. Rivers.
She was given in marriage by her
brother, Ray Rivers of North Bay.
Mrs. Queen is a graduate of
Victoria College, University of
Toronto, and taught school in
