At the regular meeting of Wingham Town Council
on April 4th, the Council, resolved to request every
resident of the municipality to rid their properties of
all refuse, junk and other unsightly objects by June 1st,
The resolution was passed in the hope that Wing,
ham will be a tidy community, of which everyone may
be proud. YOUR CO.OPERATQN IN THIS PROJECT
IS THEREFORE MOST URGENTLY SOUGHT,
TO COLLECT TRASH
In order to facilitate this program, the town truck
will once again pick up garden refuse every first and
third Friday of the month, from May to November.
All citizens with refuse to be removed are asked to
have it on the street for removal not earlier than the
Thursday evening preceding the day of pickup.

held at the home of Mrs. Wally.
Gibson with nine members and.
four visitors present. The Scrip-
ture was read by Mrs. Strong and
prayers were said. The Litany
was led by Mrs, Jacques.
The roll call was a verse from
Philippians 3. The guest speaker,
Mrs. Robert Gibson, Fordvitich,
spoke on the unrest in Africa.
The study book was in charge
of Mrs. S, Forster, who was as-
slated. by Mrs. Ted. Strong, Mrs.
Hargrave and Elva, Foster. Ten
dollars was added to the ;newer-
lel fund in memory of Mrs, Robert
Graham.
The next meeting will be held in
the basement when the bale will
be packed. A shower of small
toys will be held to be used as
stocking-fillers for the Christmas
at Cardston, Alberta Indian. Re-
sidential School,
The ladies decided to hold a ba-
zaar and tea in June and lunch
was served by Mrs. Simmons, Mrs.
Gibson and Elva Foster.
GUILD TO SPONSOR
MINSTREL SHOW
FORDWICII-- Members of St.
Anne's Guild of Trinity Anglican
Church met last week for the Ap-
ril meeting -in the Sunday School
rooms and had as their guests the
members of the W.A. The presi-
dent, Mrs, W. Hargrave, presided
and opened the meeting with the
hymn "What a Friend We Have in
Jesus", followed by Scripture read-
ing by Mrs. Francis King,
Mrs. Grace Brown gave the see-
ond.chapter of the study book. Roll
call was answered by 12 members,
each telling where they would like
to travel. Several. reports were
given and minutes of the last
meeting were read by Mrs. Donna
King, in the absence of the score-
Lary, Mrs. Mary Kato.
It was decided to sponsor The
Cotton Town Minstrel Show in the
community hall in May, by the
Lakelet W.I. The meeting closed
with prayer and progressive cro 7
kinole was played. The winners
were Mrs. Mary Sanderson; lucky
chair, Mrs. Nellie Gamble; lucky
cup, Mrs. Stan Forester.
A delicious lunch was served by
the Guild. Mrs:'.Ruby Foster,
behalf of the W.A., moved a vote
of thanks to the Guild for a very
enjoyable evening,
LADIES PLAN
ZONE RALLY
FORDWICH—The Ladies' Auxil-
iary to Howick Legion met for the
April meeting with Mrs, Jack Wil-
son„ president, in the chair. Mrs. 't
life! Allan gave the financial re-
prets. Letters were read from
several branches, on the zone rally
in May which is being held by
the Howick branch.
The Zone Commander, Comrade
M. McCann paid her official visit
and reminded the group that the
auxiliaries have taken over the
scholarships and youth training
camps. Committees were appoint-
ed to contact the minister, reeve
and branch president for the rally.
Church parade for June was
planned, to be held in Ihorrie. Final
plans for all committees to take
care of the rally were completed.
The mystery prize, donated by
Comrade Nellie Allan, was won by
Comrade McCann, who was also
presented with a small gift on be-
helf of the branch.
The Legion members joined the
ladies and spent a social half hour.

decided to donate $25,00 to Norway
House of the United church Mis-
sion in Manitoba. The treasurer's
report was given by Mrs. age,-
Burney and the Presbyterial report
by Mrs. R, Zurbrigg.
Following lunch the women met
at the United -Church to discuss
the changes being made in the.
nursery.
Members of the Auxiliary 'have
been asked to have used clothing,
nylons and linens in the church
basement by the end of April.
There is still a great need for good
used toys, cribs and play pens, for
use in the nursery. .'
