Club 20 Meeting
(Late for last week)
BELGRAVE - Mr. and Mrs.
Lewis Stonehouse were• hosts to the
Club 20, group on Wednesday even-
ing at' the Mune of Mr. and Mrs.
Kenneth Wheeler. A social time
was spent and ,progressive euchre
was played with high prizes going
to Mrs, James R. Coultes and
George Michie. Consolation prizes
went 'to Mrs. Clifton Walsh and
George Martin. A lunch was served.

Discussed at CGIT
• BELGRAVE-The regular meet-
ing of the Canadian Girls in Train-
ing ,was opened with the purpose
and Scripture on. Friday evening.
This was followed by the secre-
tary's report. The next meeting
will be held on April 27th, and the
roll call will he answered with a
picture of Africa. A discussion
was held about going to camp this
summer. Margaret Nicholson and
Joyce Procter will be in charge of
the worship service at the next
meeting and everyone is requested
to bring a collection to this meet-
ing. -
The girls enjoyed a story about
Africa. The- worship service op-
ened with the hymn, "Christ the
Lord Is Risen Today", after
which Florence Rinn read the
story, "The Upstairs Room". Bet-
ty Rinn read the Scripture. The
girls sang the hymn "Come Let
Us Sing of a Wonderful Love" and
the benediction closed the service,
' The group made animals from
gumdrops for their African pro-
ject and the singing of Taps clos-
ed the meeting.

BELGRAVE-A capacity crowd
filled the Forester's Hall on Friday
evening for a variety concert spon-
sored by the Group Committee of
the Belgrave Boy Scouts and Wolf
Cubs,
Hanna. Vincent) chairman, intro-
duced the leaders of the Cubs, Mrs.
Kenneth Wheeler, Mrs. Harold
Vincent, Mrs. Gordon MeBurneY,
Mrs. Clare VanCamp and Mrs.
Bud Orr. These leaders with the
members of the Cubs, opened the
program with the Grand Howl,
salute to the flra and prayer as
is done at the regular meetings.
Each group of Cubs gave a demon-
stration of some of the things they
are taught at meetings. This por-
tion was finished off with a jungle
dance, followed by two songs by
all the Cubs, accompanied by Mrs.
Elaine McDowell,
Nancy Anderson and Brenda
Johnston formed a duet and sang,
"Peter Cottontail" and "This Old
Man", accompanied by Mrs. George
Johnston. Lawrence Taylor gave
two readings.
Fred Cook gave a splendid dis-
play of step-dancing accompanied
by Mrs. George Johnston, Alec
Robertson and Arnold Bruce,
Karen Anderson, Joyce Arm-
strong, Ruth Michie, Loreena Arm-
strong, Marilyn Campbell and
Kay VanCamp joined together and
sang, "When My Blue Moon Turns
to Gold" and "You Are My Sun-
shine", accompanied by the Comet-
Tiers and their guitars. The Bel-
grave Orchestra, consisting of
Mrs. George Johnston, Mrs. John
Nixon, Arnold Bruce, Alec Robert-
son, Ross Anderson, Albert Bieman
and Bud Orr, favoured with sev-
eral toe-tapping instrumental num-
bers.
The young people of the 10th
line of East, Wawanosh put on a
humorous play, "With the Help of
the • Fairily". Mrs. Walter Scott
gave two readings. Two songs by
the ' Comet-Tiers, Garth Walden,
John. McDowell and Al Rettinger,
were accompanied by their guitars.
Mystery lloxes

cry welcomed the members Of the
Ladies' Guild to her home for the
regular meeting'. Mrs. Clare Van
Camp was in charge .and opened
the meeting with a hymn, prayer
and the Lord's Prayer. Mrs. F.
Meally read the Scripture lesson.
Minutes of the last meeting were
read by Mrs. Richard Procter and
Mrs. C. Nethery gave the treasur-
er's report. It was reported by
the quilt committee that they had
two quilts finished and one still
to do, Plans were made to clean
the church before Easter. Some
discussion was held alma helping
with mending at the Wingham
Hospital.
Mrs. Meally gave a talk about the
Cancer Society. The roll call was
answered with an Easter verse.
Miss Stella Nethery was in charge
of the program, which included
readings by Mrs. Robert Higgins
and Mrs, Richard Procter; duet
by Mrs. Clarence Wade and Mrs
G. W, Cruickshank of Wingham,
"How Great Thou Art", aecom-
parried by Mrs. Lawrence Van-
nan. Mrs. Wade also favored with
a solo, "Among My Souvenirs", ac-
companied by Mrs. Vannan. Miss
Nethery conducted a contest.
A sale of mystery boxes was
held and Rev. Meally closed the
meeting. Grace was sung and
lunch was served by the hostess.

Albert Bieman gave several
mouth organ selections, accompan-
ied at the piano by Mrs. I3ieman,
Nancy VanCamp did the Highland
Fling accompanied at the piano by
Lorne Campbell, Mrs.*George John-
ston and Bud Orr sang- duets,
"Whispering Hope" and "Smile
Awhile", accompanied by Mrs.
John Nixon, A reading by Clifford
Coultes, and a recitation by Bob
Taylor were followed by several
accordion selections by Mrs. John
Nixon.
The chairman expressed thanks
to all who had helped in any way
to make this program a success,

BELGRAVE 'there were seven
tables in play at the regular week-
ly euchre held in the community
centre, with high prizes going to
Mrs. Carl Procter and Chris Ne-
thery. Consolation prizes went to
Mrs. Victor Yungblut and John
E. McCallum. Novelty prize win-
ners were Mrs. Joe Dunbar and
Harold Vincent.

ed vocal numbers by a double trio,
Marlene Walsh, Joyce Armstrong,
Karen Anderson, Loreen Arm-
strong, Ruth Michie and Marilyn
Campbell, A double duet, Mrs.
George Johnston, Mrs. Carl Proc-
ter, Mrs. George Miehie and Mrs.
Stanley Cook, and a duet by Mrs.
Elaine Nixon and Miss Lorna Bolt.
The main feature of the service
was the lovely chalk drawings of
"Jesus in the Garden", which was
highlighted by colored lights, These
drawings were done by Ross Mc-
Kay of London.
4=H Swine Club
Organized Monday
BELGRAVE The North Huron
Swine Club held its first organiza-
tion meeting for 1960 in the com-
munity centre on Monday evening.
The club leaders for this year are
Jim Coultes and Ken Coultes.
Don Green, assistant agricultural
representative for Huron County,
outlined the activities concerning
4-H work. New officers elected
were Walter Bacon, president; Jim
Sproal, vice-president; Dorothy
Howatt, secretary, and Jean Bacon,
press reporter.
The meetings are to he held on
the third Monday of each month.
With all repeating the 4-H pledge
the meeting was brought to a close.
