WATER PRESSURE CAUSES BREAK GORRIE• The Maitland. Mrs. Annie Gilpin has returned to her home here after spending two months with her son, Irving and Mrs. Toner. Howick, who has been a patient in the Wingham Hospital for several weeks suffering from a heart condition, is now showing some improvement. The Woman's Missionary Society of the Gorrie United Church will meet at the home of Mrs. E. Car- son and Thursday at 8.15 p.m. This is the Associate Members' meeting with the committee in charge being Mrs. R. Robinson, Mrs. E. Parrish and Mrs. W. C. King. At the Sunday morning service in the Gorrie United Church, Rev, J, E. Clarke received the following new members on profession of faith; Marian and Donald Ruttan, Carol Robinson, Joanne Strong and Alex. Hamilton, Mrs. .1. E. Clarke was received by transfer. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dane at- tended a birthday party on Satur- day in Fordwich for the former's sister, Mrs. Mary Pollock, Ripley, who was 85 on 'April 4th. Mrs. R. T. Bennett was high lady and Mr. Alex Graham had the highest score for the gentlemen, . Mrs. Howard Machan held the high score for the ladies and Sid Thompson won the prize for men.
