Mr. Cruickshank, who was 85
years of age, was born in Wing,
ham, a son of the late Mr, and
Mrs, Thomas Cruickshank,
1899 he was married to Sarah
Melinda 11111, 'who predeceased him
In 1948. He was a building con,
tractor and a member of the Pres-
byterian Church.
Surviving are three sons and
and f our daughters, Thomas, of
Wingham; Calvin, Brantford and
James, Holmesville; Mrs. Elizabeth
Butler, Clinton; Mrs. Wilfred (Ivy)
Riehl and Mrs. Carson (Margaret)
Snowden, of Wingham and Mrs.
Dick (Sarah) Stephenson, Brus-
sels; one brother, Robert Cruick-
shank of Hamilton. There are 16,
-grandchildren and 17 great-grand-
children,
Rev. T. G. Hu.....ier of the Wing-
ham United Church officiated for
the funeral service at the R. A.
Currie & Sons funeral home at
-2 p.m. on Monday, Pallbearers
were Co, Welsh, N, Cruickshank, F.

and E. Floran. Interment was in
the Wingham cemetery.

Town of Wingham
1960 Taxes
A beloved resident of Howick died
at the Wingham General Hospital
on Tuesday of last week. She was
Mrs. Gordon Wray, the former
Mary Wilhelmina (Minnie) Double-
dee, She was in her 63rd year.
Mrs. Wray was born and spent her
life in Howick Township, receiving
her education at Lane's School.
Funeral services were conducted
at the Moir funeral home in Con,
rie on Saturday, at two o'clock,
with interment in the Wroxeter
cemetery. Pallbearers were Wil-
liam Taylor, Tom Abraham, Ken
Bennett, William Bolt, Jack and
Walter Willits.
She leaves to mourn her passing
her husband, three daughters and
three sons, Mrs. Stanley (Doris)
Hays, Howick; Mrs. Jack ,(Eileen)
Toms, Pickering; Loreen of Wing-
nam; John and George of Turn-
berry and Wesley of Vancouver;
'also her twin sister, Mrs. John
(Lena) Narrie, Toronto; Mrs. Nor-
Man (Janet) Harding, Howick;
Mrs. William (Elsie) Miller, Brus-
sels; one brother, Fred Doubledee
of Howick and nine grandchildren.

Melvin H. Taylor
Died Suddenly
A heart seizure .on Tuesday,
March 15, was the cause of the
sudden death of Melvin Humphrey
Taylor, at his home on the 6th
concession of East Wawano,sh,
Mr. Taylor was a son of the late
Thomas H. Taylor and Mary Jane
Humphrey. 'He attended school at
S, Z. No. 13, East Wawanosh. His
occupation was farming and for
many years was a breeder of Short-
horn cattle.
On April 13, 1917; -he was married
to "Jean, Smith; • of Brussels, at
Metz. He was a member of West-
field United Church.
He is survived by his wife, two
sons, -Ross Taylor, of East Wawa-
nosh, and Bill at home, and a
daughter, Mr. Edgar (Eleanor)
Dane, of Wroxeter. There are four
grandchildren; three brothers, Rev.
Will Taylor, of Dorchester; Wil-
bert, of Auburn, and Rev. Elmer
Taylor, of Goderich, and a sister,
Mrs. Lewis Cook, Belgrave.
Rev. R. Sweeney, Rev, H. C. Wil-
son and 'Rev. Dr, Hilts officiated
on Friday when the funeral ser-
vice was. held from the residence.
The pallbearers were Walter Scott,
Borden Scott, Ivan Wightman,
George Webster, Murray McDowell
and Murray Taylor. Interment was
in Wingham Cemetery.
