colm and their family are all well.

TAKES FIRST BUY
An incubator of tile latest model
and design arrived at the Wing-
ham Hospital last week just in the
nick of time,
The machine was the gift of the
Ladies' Auxiliary to the Hospital,
but before the donors had had an
opportunity to see it the incubator
had to be un'crated and put into
action for the !tee of a premature
baby in urgent need of this ex-
tra boost to start her off in life.
It will be most gratifying to the
ladies of the auxiliary to know that
the woe one is now safely on her
way to lusty babyhood. The gift
- is most deeply appreciated by the
hospital staff and doctors.

Mrs, E. A. VanStone
Injured in Fall
Mrs. B, A. VanStone met with
an. accident at her home early
Sunday morning, when she missed,
one of the lower steps in the stairs.
She had retired 'for the night, but
decided to go down to adjust the
thermostat.
Mae, VanStone was taken to
hospital, where X-rays later re-
vealed a 'fractured vertebra. Her
many friends regret the untertun-
ate incident.

the Western Ontario Secondary

Mr. Campbell has coached the
Wingham rink this season and
went with them to Simeoe on Sat-
urday.
The annual figure skating car-
nival, "Dodge City on Ice", will
take place id the Wingham arena
at 8.30 p.m. this Saturday. For
weeks 52 children and seven ad-
ults have been practising to give
their best possible show. Moth-
ers and fathers have supported the
club financially, auperVised their
Utile at. the areaa and Warmed the
scenery and oestuntes. Tickets
have been sold by young and old.

College Club, Carol Priam° is 12
years old and holds the 1960 sinii-
bit dance championship or Western
Ontario and Niagara Peninsula.
She tied her partner ate runners-
up in novice. pairs. 'She has 'one
silver tiedal, two bronze medals
and a trophy. Skating became ser-
ious for Carol when she won a
club scholarship for ability and
natural talent, entitling her to two
weeks at fluelph Summer School.
She skates six hours every week
but finds time to be a Girl 'Guide
mid to be head of Grade :8 at her
school.

Licenses Granted
To Legion Homes
At a recent sitting of the Ontario
Liquor Licensing Board held in
Kitchener ten branches of the Ca-
nadian Legion in Huron and Perth
Counties were granted 'licenses to
sell beer in their club rooms, In
several eases, including Wingham,

quired before the license takes

Brigade Called to
HarriSton Area
At noon on Monday the Wing-
ham fire brigade was called to the
farm of Gordon Morrell, three
miles 'west-of 1-larriston, -where it
was feared that a fire in a driv-
ing shed would spread to the
nearby barn. Clifford and Harris-
ton brigades were already on the
scene..
The fire is reported to have
started when a tractor was being
filled with gasoline and exploded.
Destroyed in the shed were a 1959
car, a tractor and several pieces of
farm equipment. Loss was partially
covered by insurance,
The Wingham firemen had to be
summoned by telephone when the
siren failed to operate. Repairs
were carried out during the noon
hour and the siren was back in
working order shortly after one
o'clock.
