Well, what do you know? The
end of the regular season has ar-
rived-almost, that is. Last week'
the Zorros ,and the Strikers ended
up in a deadlock for first place
and owing to the fact that out-of-
town bowlers were waiting on the
alleys there was no chance to de-
cide a winner that night.
The playoff series gets under
way this week and it is understood
the score of the first genie will
decide the winner arid then go on
from there. First meets third
and second meets 'fourth, Fifth
and sixth place teams play a sep-
arate series. •
Last week's high :scores went to
Ruth Lott, 205 single and she shar-
ed the honors for triple with June
Haferniehl at 549 each. George
Cameron was high single man with
306 and Ernie Walker high triple
with a 644.
At the end of the regular season
Ruth Lott had the high single for
the ladies, 301, and also•high,triple
at 748. Maurice Stain ton and Al
Haferrnehi each, had a 308 single
and Al had the high triple with
762.

Ladies Wednesday Night
Bowling News
Wednesday night, once again
brought lots of excitement to the
bowling alleys as the ladies, out
in full force, were trying to help
add a few more points to their
team's total points,
Arlene Sinnamon's Lilies once
again took 3 points from Irene
Perrott's Gardenias, leaving them
with 1.
Doris Remington's Roses also
took 3 points and Sharon Brown's
Tulips 1 point. . .
In the third game the same
scores were made as Velma Balser's
Petunias took 3 points from Marie

GROUP CHAMPIONSHIP

Pee Wees won the Group 2 cham-
pionship trophy at the Lake Hur-
on Zone Recreation Council Pee
Wee tournament in Kincardine
arena on Saturday, Starting at ,9
a.m.
The first game was with. Tees-
water, Carrie winning 3-0. Scoring
goals were +Ken Parrish, Jim Far-
' rish. 'end ',Harvey Wheeler.
The seeond`game was with Fleah-
ertan, Gorrie Winning 9-0. Goals
were scored by Jim Farrish, Bob'
Adams and Brian Elliott each with
two and Don Watson, Jim Hynd-
man and Ken Parrish with singles.
In the third game with Lions
Head, after ten minutes' overtime,
Score was Gorrie 4, Lions Head 3.
Goals, Ken Parrish 2, Jim Hynd-
man and'Donald Watson one each.

Ladies' Intertown play Wound up
for the season on March 5th, Wing-
ham winning top honors again this
year. Semirfinai playoffs. are to
begin this week,
Wingham bowled a double-head-
er ,one week as the result of a
postponement due to stormy wea-
ther.
In the firsi three games at
Goderich B Goderich lost all three
to Wingham for a total of seven
points. High single, Ruth Lott,
254; high single, Delores Peach-
ey, 242; high triple, Delores Pea-
chey, 638; Ruth Lott, 633. -
When' Wingham ladies visited
Exeter the game was a real thrill-
er, the Exeter team winning 4-3.

First Winghana Troop
The attendance at the regular
meeting of the' 1st Winghara Boy
Scout Troop on Wednesday even-
ing was nothing exceptional, Since
the Wingham. hockey teams have
been winding up the season in the
playoffs the attendance has some-
times been a bit slim at Scout
meetings. There will be no Meet-
ings for the next two weeks, as
the boys are about to face exam.

Wingharn Cubs, Pack A
There were 20 boys out to 'the re-
gular meeting of A Pack on Mon-
day evening with Assistant Cub
Leader Penny Gerrie in charge of
the opening exercises. She also
invested a new 'member into the
Pack, Brian Walden, who recently
moved to town from Ripley.
Akela Bill Rintoul conducted
games while tests were being held
by Miss •Gerrie. Several profic-
iency badges were awarded at the
meeting. Brian Forsyth .received
the swimmer badge; Doug Elliott,
model; Bruce Gauley, house order-
ly and also artist; Brian Carr and
David Langridge, collectors.
There were also tests for Sec-
ond Star work. Dotig Mowbray,
Harold Jardin, Douglas Elliott
and David Langridge all passed the
Second Star message; David Lang-
ridgeR and Doug Mowbray, Sec-
ond Star thrift and Tommy Mil-
ler and David 'Langridge passed
walking the plank for Second Star
requirements.
The boys were informed of the
Father and Son banquet to be held
in the United Church basement on
Thursday, March 31. Each Cub
was given a form to be taken home
and filled out by the father, stat-
ing whether or not they will at-
tend. It is most urgent that •these
forms are filled out and returned
'next Monday night, March 21st.

Wingliara Cubs, B Pack
Assistant Leaders Barb Piekford,
Byron Adams and Bob Rintoul con-
ducted the weekly meeting of Pack
B at the United Church last Thurs-
day evening. There were 31 boys
present.
Byron and Bob conducted a
number of games while Miss Pick-
ford gave several 'boys tests. Suc-
cessful in passing this week were:
0 Canada, Wayne Scott; growing
things, Donald Collar, Matt Rich-
' ardson; keeping room tidy, Gary
Brerizil; flags, Edward Ross.
Donald Collar, Richard Wharton,
Bob 'Major, Teddy Ahara, Bob
McKay, Jimmy McCarter, Rickey'
Gardner and Randy Foxton pass-
ed the ball throwing and 'catching
test. Edward• Ross passed his test
for book cover and George Miller
First Star knots.
There were a few who tried for
Second Star requirements. David
Schiestek got his Second Star knots,
Brian Miller Second Star tele-
phoning, and Brian also received
his collector's badge.
Donald Collar, Terry Deyell and
Wayne Scott have now passed their'
first series of tests and were pre-
sented with their First Stars. The
meeting closed with the Grand
Howl and Cub Prayer.
Forms will be passed out at this
week's meeting for the Father and
Son banquet so all boys should try
to be present.
BRIM TROPHY HOME
FROM DURHAM GAMES
GORRIE-The Gorrie-Wroxeter
Midgets, comprised of boys from,
the surrounding district won the.
trophy at Durham on Saturday.,
They played first with Kurtzville,,
the game ending in a 4-4 tie. Shots
on goal decided the winner, Got.,
rie-Wroxeter having 19 and Kurtz-,

The second genie was with
Chesley, the local boys winning
7-0. The goalkeeper Was ' Don
Wheeler. Players were Gerald
Brown, Ricky- Irwhi, Don Whit-

Today, in all parts of Ontario, crippled child-
ren are going to take another step forward
on their long road of treatment, for this day
opens the annual Easter. Seal Campaign, The
Ontario Society for Crippled Children is sup-
ported by 222 service clubs such as Rotary,r't,
Lions, Kiwanis, :Kinsmen and others in the
the raising of funds on behalf of crippled
children. The campaign runs to April 17 and
has a provincial objective of $850,000.
Weekly Euchre
BELGRAVEr ‘There were eight
tables in play at the regular week-
ly euchre party held, in the com-
munity centre on Wednesday eve-
ning. High prize winners were
Mrs, Ray Crawford and, Bill Black.
Consolation prizes went to Mrs.
Cora McGill and Albert Cook, Nov-
elty prize winner was Mrs. C. R.
Coultes.

The 1st Beigrave Boy Scouts'
meeting: was belt' Tuesday night in,
the Pnited Church, Belgrave, with
15 present, Leine Campbell, the
scoutmaster, had charge of the
games. Barry Scott war invested.
