Wingham Cubs, 'Pack A
Akela Bill'Rintoul and Assistant
Leader Penny Gerrie were in
charge of the Cubs in A Pack on
Monday night, when the regular
meeting was held at the 'United
Church, There were 21 boys out
for the meeting.
While Bill gave the boys exer-
cises, Penny gave a number of
tests. Brian Cronkwright passed
his First Star cleanliness test and
`ferry Gardner his First Star
growing things and reading. Wayne
Gordon was successful in getting
his collector's proficiency badge
and his Second Star thrift.
Doug Mowbray' and David Lang-
ridge passed the Second Star mod-
el test; Grant Currie, Second Star
knots and Doug Ewing received
his .swimmer proficiency badge.
The meeting closed with the Grand
Howl and Cub prayer.

The Juveniles played the first
game against Wiarton in that town
on Friday night and came home
with a 5-4 win, It was a close
game throughout and offered plen-
ty of excitement for the fans.
Wiarton got the first goal early
in the first, and Pete Carmichael
tied the score promptly 'with a
solo effort. By the end of , the
'period Wingham had the edge 2-1.
The Wingham team stayed ahead
all the Way from there on. By the
end of the second It was 3-2 and
by the final bell the • Wingham
team had taken the game 5-4. Pete
Carmichael had two goals and the
others were notched by John Fry-
fogle, George Skinn and Bill Dalli-
more. Allfour counters for Wiar-
ton were credited to Martin,

There were 29 boys present and the
meeting was conducted by Alcela
Bill Crawford and Assistant Lea-
ders Barbara Pickford and Bob
Rintoul. Bill and Bob conducted
games and Barbara gave several
boys their tests.

passed the growing things for
First Star requirements; Ken Tay-
lor and Wayne Scott, flags; Gary
Brentil, 0 Canada; Donald Collar,
reading; Terry Deyell, cleanliness
and Wayne Scott, Ken Taylor and
Donald Collar, patron saints.
The only test for Second Star
was passed by Brian Miller, who
tried his' reading. The meeting
closed in the usual manner with
the Grand Howl and Cub prayer.

Gorrie-Wroxeter Troop
The regular meeting of the Troop
was held in Wroxeter on Wednes-
day evening with Assistant Scout-
master Edgar in charge. Gerry
Brown and Rev. E. Clarke assisted
in the 'meeting. Flag break and
inspection began the meeting.
The Troop played Kim's Game
and then went into Patrols for in-
struction, A contest on the Scout
Law was held. Scouter Edgar
demonstrated some bandages no
the Troop and Rev. Clarke gave
the talk on "Help Others".
The Racoon Patrol kept the
honour pennant for another week.

There were 16 members present
at the regular meeting of the Bel-
grave Boy Scouts held on Tuesday

SUCCESSFUL SPIEL
A ladies' bonspiel was held last
Wednesday in the Wingham cur-
ling rink with 16 rinks competing
from Hanover, Walkerton, Sea-
forth, Kitchener, Listowel, Wing-
ham, 13elgrave, Chesley, Mitchell,
Clinton, Fergus, Paisley and Mid-
land.
The trophy was won by Miss P.
Bremner's rink, of Midland, with
3 wins plus 3.3 and an aggregate
of 29. The same rink also won
the eleven o'clock draw, Second
place in the eleven o'clock draw
went to Mrs. Vi Christener of the
Kitchener-Waterloo club with 2
wins and a plus of 12. Third place
went to Mrs. T. G. Fyfe of Han-
over With 2 wins and a plus of 6.
Winners in the nine o'clock
draw were Mrs. Mel Pearson and
her rink of Walkerton with 3 wins
plus 13, and an aggregate of 27.
Mrs. E. Stephenson of Seaforth
was in second place with 2 wins
plus 9 and in third place was Mrs.
Jack IVfacIntyre of Wingham with 2
wins plus 5.
