two more play-off games last week,
the one played in the Fordwich
arena Wednesday night with
Kurtzville winning $ to 5. On Fri-
day night Fordwich won 13 to 10
in the Kurtzville arena, A game
was scheduled •fer Monday night in
the Fordwich rink.

Port Credit, Mr. Morley Bride and
Son, Donald, and Miss Irene Fair-
weather, of Elora, Mr, and Mrs.
Harvey Bride and son, Peter, of
Toronto, were Sunday visitors with

Sunday for Myerstown, Pa,, where
the former will attend a poultry

At WA. Meeting
FORbWICII The March Meet-
ing of the United Church WA was
held in the Sunday Selmel recall
with 20 ladies present. Two relief
quilt,/ were quilted.
The Meeting operiedwitli a hymn
and the Lord's prayer in unison.
Mrs. G. Johnston, president, and
Mrs. William Campbell, secretary,
were in charge. Mrs. Johnston read
scripture and comments. Minutes
were read and approved.
It was decided to dispose of the
old gowns and Mrs. George Rich-
ards and Miss Minnie McElwain
were appointed to look after this.
The renovating of the ,Sunday
School rooms was diacassed. The
ladles are going to have a bee to
clean the woodwork and walls.
The meeting closed with prayer
and the committee in charge serv-
ed lunch.

is spending a few days with her
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Em-
merson Hargrave.

Patty spent Saturday in London.

don at the home of Mr. and Mrs.

For Christ's Work
FORDWICH -The World Day of
Prayer was held Friday in Trinity
Anglican Church with a very good
attendance. Ladies from the United
and Brethren in Christ Churches
joined the Anglican ladies for their
worship together.
Mrs. Stan Bride and Mrs. Ruby
Poster presided. Others taking part
were faitrs. Sheldon Wilson, Mrs,
John 'Popham, Mrs. Wray Cooper,
Mrs. Lloyd Jacques, Mrs. Emmer-
son Hargrave, Mrs. Tim Warrell
and Mrs. Glenn Johnston.
Mrs. Ken 'Graham was the guest
speaker and followed this year's
theme, "Labourers Together with
God", Mrs. Graham said it was
privilege to be able to. take part in
this service. "We must all have a
partnership with God so we can be
labourers together. God's blessing
follows those who serve Him.
Christ has no hands but we must

Pace led in prayer.
Rev. T. E. 'Kennedy gave a short
address, using as his theme "The
Lord's Prayer". The offering for
the Women's Inter-Council of

FORDWIOH—St. Anne's Guild of
Trinity Church met for the March
meeting in the basement with
eleven members present. Mrs. W.
Hargrave presided, opening with a
hymn, and the Lord's prayer.
Miss Beatrice Wade gave the
first chapter in the new study book
"Roses Among Thorns". The min-
utes of the last meeting were
read by Mrs. Mary Kato and the
roll call was answered with a verse
for Easter.
Final plans were made for the
Milk Producers' banquet. Members
were reminded to saveBetty Crock-
er box tops. The April meeting will
be held at the church with rriem
hers of the' WA as guests. Rev. E.
Attwell was asked to contact a
speaker. He also told the group
that the centennial plans were go-
ing ahead quite well and any help
will always be gratefully accepted.
Material was given out and ar-
ticles are to be made from this for
the fall bazaar. Rev. Attwell closed
with prayer and lunch was served
by Mrs, Donna 'King and •Mrs. Wil-
la, Douglas.
IT COULD BE WORSE—With some people moaning about the lamonnt
of snow we have around, the above snaps. taken ;in. March of 1941 may
improve their feelings. The pictures were taken south of Walkerton.
On No, 0 Highway, near 'Otter Creek. At least the roads haven't been
blocked as they were 13 years age; and looked similar to canals when
the plows finally got through.
Euchre Winner's
FORDWIOH -- The weekly card
party was held in the community
hall with nine tables in play. The
winners were Mrs. Bruce Arm-
strong, high lady, and Mrs. Wray
Cooper, low. John Waalte had high
score for the men while Jim, War-
rell was low. The special prize went
to' 'Mrs. Doug. Holt,

BELMORE—There were 45 in
attendance at the World Day of
Prayer service, held in the Presby-
terian Church here last Friday
afternoon. The ladies of McIntosh
and Belmore United Churches were
guests and assisted in the program,
