the 'last meeting were read by the

The president, Mrs. J. C. Proc-
ter, reported' that there were 25
member's, with an average atten-
dance at rehearsal of 12. Mrs.
Procter expressed her'thanks to
the choir members for their co-
operation and also to the organist
and choir leader, Roy Mundy, Mr.
Mundy also expressed his apprec-
iation to the choir,

Church Group Meets
At McBurney Home
BELGRAVE---Nfrs. J. C. IVIeBur-
ney was hostess to 'the Women's
Missionary Society' of Knox Pres-
byterian .Chureh when they met
at her home on Tuesday afternoon
with: a good attendance.
Mrs. Garner Nicholson presided
and opened the meeting with the
meditation from The Glad Tidings.
The Scripture was read by Mrs.
Alan Dunbar, folloWed with prayer
by Mrs. Clifford Purdon. Reports
from the secretary and treasurer
were heard and sick and shut-in
visits were recorded. The offering
was received 'and dedicatory prayer
given by Mrs. Nicholson.
Mrs. Joe Dunbar presided for the
business session and plans were
made for the World Day of Prayer
which will be held on March 4th,
in Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Dun-.
bar also gave a full report of the
annual meeting of Huron Presby-
terial, held in Clinton in. January,
The first chapter of the study
book, "The Way in Africa",' was
given by Mrs, J. C. McBurney and
entitled, "The Invasion of Africa",
which dealt with the economic-
political and, religion:; forces, that
have invaded the continent since
the year 1802.
Mrs. Victor Youngblut gave a
splendid talk on the life of Jesus;
and how the prophets foretold . of
His coming, and of His death for
the redemption of our sins.
The meeting came to a close
with, the Glad Tidings prayer, read
by Mrs. Levi ,Bieman. A ten cent
tea was held and a social time en-
joyed,

In appreciation of 'their many
years of untiring service to the
success of the 13elgrave Fair, Stew-
art Procter, 3. F. McCallum and
C .R. Coultes were named honorary
directors of the fair board.
The data of the Music festival
Will be set at a future .meeting.
The directors and teachers 'will
hold a meeting on February 15 at
8.30 p.m. in the community centre.

the euchre party at Sacred Heart
Church. last Tuesday night, spon-
sored by the Catholic, Women'a
League.

Hold Work Meeting
BELGRAVE The regular meet-
ing of the Canadian Girls in Train-
ing Was held on Thursday evening
in the church. Due to the absence
of several of the members this was
-mainly a work meeting, with the
girls working on their scrap book
on Africa.
The group made African -huts to
collect the offering,in at the meet-
ings. The next meeting will he on
Thursday evening, February 11.

Mrs. Kathleen Armstrong, widow
of Rev. David Arinstrong, died at
the home of her daughter in
Merlin on January 30, The 'funk
erel was on Tuesday Of last week
with interment in Prome Coin-
etery.
Mrs. Armstrong had lived. In
Wtorceter, where leer husband was
minister Of the United Church from
1924 to 1023, Rev. Armstrong died
in 1937.

can Church to her home for their
regular meeting.
The president, Mrs, Clare Van-
Camp opened the meeting with a
hymn followed by prayer, Mrs.
Robert Procter read 'the Scripture
lesson, Minutes were read by Mrs.
Richard Procter and the financial
statement by Mrs. Cooper. Nethery.
The group received and accepted
an invitation from. the WA.. of St.
Paul's Church, Wingham, to attend
a tea to be held, in March When
Mrs. re. Nimmo will be the speaker.
Mrs. David Armstroag, repiirting
for the quilt committee, stated
one quilt was finished and -another
one started. Final plans were made
to cater for the Credit Union-,ban-
quet.
Mrs. Cooper Nethery was in
charge of the program which in-
cluded a reading "Courage" -by
Miss Stella N'"4thery. -Mrs1Varinitn•
was winner of the contest. The
meeting closed with the singing of
grace and lunch was served by the

Child Is Still
'Hospital Patient
BELGRAVE-Little Danny La-
mont, 17-month-old triplet son of
Mr. and 'Mrs. James Lamont is
still in the Wingham General
Hospital, where 'treatment con-
tinues after swallowing furniture
polish three weeks ago. Until his
temperature stays at the -normal
level, he will continue to he a
patient there.
