to Vancouver, 33,C, after spending
two weeks with her mother, Mee.

home Saturday after visiting with
relatives in Toronto for the past

sunflowers again this year. It was
announced that the church annual

newly appointed officers for the

Mrs, Walter Scott was in charge
of the W.M.S. meeting and opened

• Minutes were read by Mrs. Wil-
liard Armstrong, treasurer's re-
port by Mrs. George Martin and
the gift fund by Mrs. Jack Ander-
son. Several cards of thanks
were read for the Christmas boxes
given out at •that time. Mrs, Scott
expressed thanks to the past offic-
ers and welcomed the new ones.
A card of thanks was read for
the hale sent to Enelda, Alberta.
Quilt, blocks are to be made to
finish the two quilts started.

ed the election of officers as fol-

sociation of the Fordwich 'United
Church entertained. the ladica • of

party at the regular meeting held

Tiffin to Owen Sound on Monday,
• where they consulted with a spec-
ialist about Homey's ear condition.
When living at Owen Sound a few
years ago, Homey had an operation
for mastoid, and trouble started
again during the past few weeks,

At United Church
BELGRAVE—The first meeting
of the Women's Missionary Society
of Knox Presbyterian Church was
held at the home of Mrs. Joseph
Dunbar on Thursday afternoon,
with a good 'attendance. Mrs.
Dunbar presided and opened the
meeting with prayer,
-A hymn. was sung. Mrs. Cather-
ine Bieman read the Scripture
lesson front St. Luke's gospel and
Mrs. Alan Dunbar led in prayer.
Mrs. 0. G. Anderson gave the
minutes of the Decembea meeting
and a full report of the activities
of the society for 1959, The treasur-
er, Mrs. V. Youngblut, gave 'the
year's financial statement. The-
Offering was taken, the roll called
and the sick visits reported.
Mrs. Anderson -introduced the
new study book for 1960, "The Way
in 'Africa", and gave a summary
of each theater. A message from
the moderator of the Presbyterian
Church, Dr. Alexander Nimmo,
Was read aind "A New Year's Mes-
sage" was also given by Mrs,
AridersOn. This Was folloeved with
the Glad Tidings prayer by Mrs.
Edgar. Wightinan,

The Morris Township Council
met in the township hall on Jan.
4th with all the members present.
The -following signed the 'deblara-
tion of office: 'Reeve, Bailie Par-
rott; Council, Walter Shortreed,
Ross Duncan, Stewart Procter,
Gordon Wilkinson. Rev. Mr. Green
of Brussels opened the meeting
with a devotional period and he
was thanked on behalf of the coun-
cil by Bailie Parrott and Walter
'Shortreed. The minutes of the last
-meeting were read and adopted on
motion of Stewart Procter and
-Gordon Wilkinson.
