enough for them to ramble around in, it wasn't big enough in the
beginning to house anything like what Westover Park has
become today. Over the years it was added to with such things as
a south wing which became a solarium with a glass dome.
After the death of the brothers, their niece Mina Hutton
moved into the house until she married a doctor from New
York. The solarium fell into disrepair in the 1920s but at the
same time Miss Hutton decided it was time to add a coach house
to the estate, although she had no horses at the time and used
the local livery. It was also at a time when many people were
switching to cars.
In 1943 the Scarboro Foreign Mission Society purchased the
property and it was turned into a Catholic seminary. It was
during nearly 30 years of use as a seminary that the property
took on the present appearance and was set up in a way to make
it more easily used as a guest house.
A residence was build on the hillside near the main house to
house the noviate. This residence today serves as the main
