hack up. such as wood burned in an airtight stove. Little things
can be taken advantage of. such as south windows and north
protection given by a hill or a windbreak.
The house took a long time to build, because of the
interruptions of farming. Tony and Fran still have a lot to do. but
they have learned to live with "temporary inconveniences" and
are enjoying their unique home.
When they're not working at the house, they're farming 50
acres of land with a team of Belgian horses. They also have a
small Clock of sheep and a herd of purebred goats. for which they
have won numerous prizes at local fairs. A new barn is their
project for this year.
An old barn stands near the road and bears the name of the
farm. "The Meeting Place". The name is derived from the
Quaker background that Tony and Fran share: instead of worshi f
services in churches. the Society of Friends meet in homes.
"The Meeting Place" is also an appropriate name for tht
impressive house, that stands near the top of the hill. because o
the co-operative effort that made it a reality.
