The fertile soils of Western Ontario have
for years produced some of the most
valuable crops in the country. It has also
produced an outstanding crop of literary
personalties.
Perhaps the most honoured writer from
this area is still in this area. Alice Munro,
born in Wingham, now living in Clinton
has been one of the handful of women who
have dominated the literary scene in

numerous national and international
ay.ards for her past work which includes
Dance of the Happy Shades. Lives of Girls
and Women and Something I've Been
Mcanine to Tell vou.

familiar territory of small town Western
