While making a purchase at the Village
Guild in Bayfield, we picked up your little
magazine Village Squire. It is a refreshing
and informative magazine. We are now
retired. and we love to visit the little places
along the way to Port Elgin, where we
vacation every year. We didn't realize
there were so many little places off the
main highway. We are looking forward to
our first issue.

Thank you for having a notice in my last
edition of Village Squire. My renewal is
now due and I' m enclosing money order for
$3.50 for subscription for one year. You are
to be congratulated for the steady growth
of your magazine, and I have received it
since your first issue came to Miss Harris'
book store in Wingham. Each issue is
interesting. and I'ni keeping all of them, as
I often am asked to give a "paper" at a
meeting and find an article that suits the
occasion.

Enjoy the Village Squire very much and
y, ait anxiously each month for its arrival. In
the last issue(June) I read the article on
Family Picnics.
1 believe I have something of interest to
report about "My Family" re -union. The
Baker Family have had 80 picnics
beginning in 1898 and yesterday celebrat-
ed its 80th anniversary.
We gather each year on the 3rd Saturday
of June at Pinefore Park. St. Thomas.
This all happened because a family left
Burro: all. England in 1847 and came to
Canada. The crossing in a sailing boat took
eight long y:eeks with a family of 10
children.
