The Lucknow Market is just getting started but is drawing
encouraging crowds on early Saturday mornings.
lot outside is full of hustle and bustle too.
With the large summer tourist population in Stratford. the market
is a very popular spot. One recent Saturday morning it was crowded
by a goodly number of shoppers but regular patrons were
commiserating with the vendors about what a slow day it was.
You can get just about the full range of market produce at the
Stratford market. Inside the building the Leslie Cheese House
operates a counter. There's another counter with fresh meats. Fresh
fruits and vegetables are, of course. plentiful. You can have your
choice of white or brown eggs. stacked by the dozen. There's
another cheese counter offering a wide variety of cheese and a
vendor with fresh herbs and spices. There are homemade crafts and
flowers by the hundred.
If the indoor market feels informal if organized. the outdoor
market gives a nice feeling of spontaneity to add to the flavour.
