SAGE AND SAGITTARIUS GALLERY: At 165 Erie Street, Stratford features the work non-objective artist Tait Baynard and the imaginative work of Beverley Nye. MADE GLORIOUS: STAGE DESIGN AT STRATFORD: The Gallery Stratford. Gallery/Stratford announced its Summer Exhibition, Made glorious; stage design at Stratford; 25 YEARS. The exhibition is produced in co-operation with the Stratford Festival. Major corporate funding for the exhibition is being provided by Mutal Life of Canada whose head offices are in Waterloo, Ontario. The exhibition will be drawn from the costume properties warehouse of the Festival and will have added documents from the Festival Archives. It will trace the development and changes in design at Stratford for the past 25 years. Over 50 costumes have been chosen. A portion of the exhibit will be given to demonstrating how a costume is designed and put together. BLYTH SUMMER FESTIVAL: A display of art by such artists as Jo Manning, Ron Walker, Bev Katzin, Jack McLaren, Mona Mulhern will be on display at Memorial Hall, Blyth throughout the Festival. Open daily except Sundays and on view during intermissions of the THE LONDON ART GALLERY, 305 Queens Ave., London. July 9 - July 31, 1977. ON VIEW: A selection of 40 works from the On View exhibition which opened in the Toronto Dominion Centre, March 1 - April 2, 1976. The original open juried exhibition was comprised of 140 works chosen from the 1500 submissions. On View was organised and is sponsored by Visual Arts Ontario and is merely a sample of the wealth of visual expression within our own province. August 6 - August 28, 1977 100 YEARS EVOLUTION OF THE ONTARIO COLLEGE OF ART: Prepared and circulated by the Art Gallery of Ontario, the exhibition celebrates the centennial of the Ontario College of Art, paying tribute to the oldest and largest continuing art college in Ontario devoted solely to the education of the artist and the designer. It includes 88 works by 76 artists and designers associated with the College. either as students or instructors. Shown Sunday night, July 10 at 8:30 p.m. GRAPES OF WRATH: John Steinbeck's novel about the depression treck of the Okies to California to escape the dust -bowl was made into a movie that won the 1940 New York Film Award for best picture and direction. Directed by John Ford, starring Henry Fonda, Charlie Grapewin, Jane Darwell and John Carradine. July 24 at 8:30. THE CLINTON SPECIAL and THE DRYLANDERS: Michael Ondaatje made the Clinton Special about the creation and tour of The Farm Show by Theatre Passe Muraille in 1972 when the troupe lived at Clinton and created the very successful show about farm people. The Drylanders stars Frances Hyland and James Douglas and tells of a young office clerk in 1907 who leaves his job and takes his wife and sons west to the barren homestead property which he purchases.
