THE GALLERY/STRATFORD: is present- ing four exhibitions of varied contemporary works during the month of February. Saskatchewan Photography, organized by the Photographers Gallery, Saskatoon, and the Norman Mackenzie Art Gallery, Regina, is the first major exhibition to examine contemporary photography in the Province of Saskatchewan. The subject matter in these black and white photographs varies from personal images of an expressive nature to images of the Province and its people. There are 67 photographs in this exhibition representing the efforts of 25 photographers. The exhibition was made possible by a National Museums of Canada Grant. Acres, Elliott, Horley, Ransberry four artists living and working in Perth County are represented in our gallery for the first time. Their works cover a broad range of materials, techniques, and ideas. Included in this exhibit are paintings by Bill Acres, and Glenn Elliott, weavings by Carolyn Horley, and wood and stone carvings by Andre Ransberry. Hendrikus Bervoets - Recent Collage, - consists of the recent efforts of this London based artist. The printed images found in today's popular glossy magazines are the elements of this artist's statements. Mr. Bervoets explores the familiar commercial advertising image and the contemporary consumer ideal, to create Surrealistic works of social comment. These colleges are often amusing to look at and at tines frightening. The artist will conduct a weekend collage workshop geared toward family participation on February 12, and 13, at the gallery. Perth County School Children's Art Work This is our annual exhibit of work done by the students of the Public and Separate schools of Perth County. Gallery Hours: Tuesday through Friday and Sunday. 1 to 5 pm. Saturday 10 am to 5 pm, Mondays closed.
