This month
Don Vair came to the area a confirmed city slicker in 1971
uncertain he could put up with living in a small town. Today, he's
not only found the place he wants to stay in (Belgrave) but has
put local materials to work as a central part of his art. His
barnboard paintings have drawn interest across Canada.
Also this month, a little country inn in Walton shows a lot of
potential as an interesting place to dine out. Our reviewer found
the pie especially good.
And this month several of our area writers contribute stories
from Sandra Orr's tale of her battle with pigs to Dorothy
Thornton's story of an act of kindness during the hard years of
the depression
