This month
The pair of hands on the cover are those of a Huron county
farmer who, though the rest of him may remairf unkown to all but
his friends and neighbours, now has famous work -worn hands.
The pencil drawing is one of a number of drawings of hands
Londesboro-area artist Jo Manning did for a recent commission
for the Canadian Catholic Conference. You can learn more about
the hands, the commission and Jo herself in this month's issue.
The old'halls that once were the centre of life in the community ,
are still there, but they're strangers now to many.. Some have
fallen into disrepair, Some have been restored. This month we
look at two more: the town halls in Lucknow and Wingham.
And with fall just about here, those of us with the
back -to -the -land syndrome are busy gathering the produce of our
garden after a long hard summer. But the work seems just to
have begun and Sandra Orr tells all the problems she runs into in
her harvesting operation.
