Centre of the Arts over 30 other residents and
former residents of Saskatchewan. The work
is to be a tapestry mural made to his design in
four sections. The tapestry is. based on a suite
of works by Mr. Weinstein entitled "The
Musicians". The artist's fee for the project is
$8000 with the cost of the tapestry not to
exceed $32,000.
His works in the Blyth show are in intaglio
Jo Manning is a part-time resident of the
Londesboro area. She was recently commiss-
ioned to do a series of sketches to illustrate
the new Roman Catholic Church Sunday, _.
Mass book and won praise for her work from
newspapers across the country. She produced
a series of seven pencil sketches showing the
work -worn hands of a Blyth area farmer to
represent the seasons of the liturgical year.
Her works at this show include striking
etchings in a realistic style.
Ron Walker settled on his Blyth area farm
last year as a year-round resident after
coming to it on weekends for several years
He has had several one -mann shows in
Toronto galleries. His works are done in
series and two series are featured -in the Blyth
show, hi's "Road Series" • and his "Studio
Series". The former is a seriograph while the
latter is a drawing.
His wife Bev Katzin has some of the larger
works on display. She works in mixed media Jo Manning's realistic etchings are among the works on display at the Blyth Summer Festival Art
in subtle variations of flowing colours. She Show.
was part of a province -wide tour by prominent
women artists as part of International
Women's Year last year, sponsored by the
Ontario Arts Council.
