Remember the giant elms that used to dominate tlie landscape
in Western Ontario? Already they are nearly as unfamiliar as the
passenger pigeon. We recall in words and pictures, some of the
beauty of those trees and their sad fate.
Rita Ryan deals with some things that are hard to find too these
days: Canadian antiques. She finds her store, The Shadowbox on
Clinton's main street has opened up a whole new world of
interesting things and interesting people to her.
Elaine Townshend tells the story of the work, the endless
exacting work, that has been going on in Egmondville in the
attempt to restore Van Egmond house to its original,
mid -nineteenth century condition. It's a fascinating story.
Some tests of dining spots are tougher than others when it
comes to reviewing. Our reviewer this month threw a real tough
one at the Village Restaurant in Blyth. The new owners of the
restaurant came through pretty good.
