Village Squire, 1975-11, Page 32written by a writer named Bronwyn and
illustrated by a Kincardine artist Marilyn
Fell. The book illustrates the problems of
publishing in Canada. It was published by
Tree Frog, a small Edmonton publishing
house with financial aid from the Canada
Council and the Alberta Provincial govern-
ment. Mrs. Fell and Bronwyn were rooma•es
in Toronto where Bronwyn was studying
journalsim at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute
and Mrs. Fell was studying at Toronto's
Central Technical School. She specialized in
illustrations and calligraphy.
The book finally appeared this summer and
Mrs. Fell, who moved to Kincardine about
two years ago when her husband was
transferred from Deep River hopes that it will
bring her more work. It's difficult, she
admits, to make a living as an illustrator away
from the big cities, but she wpuldn't want to
go back to living in Toronto.
