The harbour
in the spring
There's something about the makeup of most of
us that draws us irresistably toward the nearest
body of water when the spring winds blow.
In the area, that usually means toward the
Iakeshore. One of the first places to wake up in the
spring is the port at Goderich where the big grain
freighters and salt carriers are just waiting to
battle their way into port as soon as spring
breakup will allow.
Using high-contrast photographic techniques
our photographer captured some of the feeling of
the port town in the early spring on the following
pages.

shack by the water.
