Movies
The best things around this month seem to be
coming for the second or even third time
around. Things start this weekend for
instance with:
SUMMER OF 42:
The warm, often hilarious story of a boy
28, VILLAGE SQUIRE/FEBRUARY 1975
who grew up quite suddenly in the summer of
1942. It was a big hit the first time round
three summers ago and inspired the Class of
44 with which it is showing as part of a twin
bill at some theatres. The two are at the
Capitol, Listowel Feb. 6-8 and Feb. 5-8 at the
Park in Goderich. Summer of 42 is at the
Lyceum, Wingham Feb. 5-8.
LIFE AND TIMES OF_GRIZZLY ADAMS:
The true story of a man exiled in the
wilderness and how he learned to survive.
Another one of those movies where the
advertising l udget often tops the shooting
budget. For those who like heartwarming
outdoors stories. At the Capitol Feb. 9-11. At
the Lyceum, Feb. 9.
ELVIS ON TOUR:
Elvis may have joined the over -forty
crowd but he still keeps rolling along like
ever. And people still like to see him the only
way they get a chance anymore, at the
movies. At the Lyceum, Feb. 10-12.
MY NAME IS NOBODY:
Henry Fonda and Terrence Hill in a
comic western. At the Lyceum Feb. 13-15.
BLACK CHRISTMAS:
Chilling thriller at the Capitol for one week,
Feb. 12-18.
THE NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD:
Another thriller at the Capitol Wed. Feb.
19 only.
JUGGERNAUT:
A bomber plants seven large bombs on a
big luxury ship carrying 1200 passengers,
The usual catastrophe adventure film is
livened with the directing of Richard Lester.
Capitol, Feb. 20-22.
DEEP THROAT PART II:
Only the name is the same as the much
talked about but little seen (in Canada at'
least) famous porno film Deep throat. Linda
Lovelace doesn't show her talents from the
first film so the film gets past the Censors. Its
on with another skin flick, Diary of a 19th
Century Joy Girl at the Lyceum, Feb. 16-18.
RETURN OF THE DRAGON:
Another Bruce Lee film for the Kung Fu
buffs. At the Lyceum, Feb. 19-22.
THE GAMBLER:
The gambler is a brilliant young Jewess
professor of literature to ghetto blacks, a
potentially great novelist who, however has
his problems Starring Hames Caan. Lyceum,
Feb. 23-25
AMERICAN GRAFFITI:
The film that holds most of the box office
records in this area is coming back again.
Nostalgia and fun for those not old enough to
remember the nostalgic thirties or forties. A
lot of fun for all ages. Feb. 26 - March 1 at the
Lyceum.
MATINEES:
KING KONG ESCAPES, Capitol, Feb. 8 2
p.m.
SUB -A -DUB, Feb 15.
