The witch's Christmas
There was not going to be any Christmas
lights on next door. I knew that all the
bullies on my street called her a witch.
They said that she called the dead to life
every night. The bullies said that no one
goes into her house and ever comes out. I
knew that was not true, but somehow I was
afraid to go there.
The next day I gathered up enough
courage to find out what was true. As I
rang her doorbell, I trembled in fear. She
came to the door and looked very kind. She
told me she never gets company and in-
vited me in. She made me some hot
chocolate and told me her name.
Miss Mullen was very kind. I asked her
why she didn't have a Christmas tree.
"Why should I have a tree? I have no one
to celebrate with and why should I be
happy?!
I told her the Christmas story about
Jesus. Time flew and soon I had to go.
After I got home, I took my allowance
which I was saving for a new bicycle. I
counted it and the amount came to $99.20. I
then went to the flower shop and bought a

small tree, and then to the hardware store
and bought some lights and ornaments.
Finally, I went to the Knick Knack store
and bought a small golden music box. I
asked for them to be especially wrapped.
With all my purchased gifts, I returned
to Miss Mullen's door. I rang the door bell.
She opened the door.
"What on earth is this for!" she
exclaimed.
I said "I want you to have a Merry
Christmas."
I set up the tree and decorated it. Next, I
went to the kitchen where I made some
cookies. She told me about how she
remembered old Christmas's past when
her family sat around . the fireplace ex-
changing gifts. Sadly she also told me that
her family had died in a horrible plane
crash.
That night I could hear music next door.
Miss Mullen was playing the piano and
singing joyfully to herself. What a
beautiful Christmas'

The happiest 'Christmas
One early morning, as the . sun rose
brightly the Johnston family had just woke
up and remembered it was Christmas
Day! Of course you know, if one person
wakes up, they all wake up!
They were going to eat breakfast, but all
of a sudden `CRASH". They looked out the
window and guess what? A cow broke
through the fence.
"Oh no! Now what are we going to do?"
said the father:
So the whole family went out chasing
this dumb, old, cow. She kept running and
the family kept running. Someone jumped
for her but missed and fell in the snow. He
popped his head up and it was covered in
white, ,fluffy, snow. Everyone started.
laughing.
Meanwhile the cow keptrunning, having
a riot. Meanwhile, : she looked . over her
shoulder, and low and behold, 'the, family
was.a half a kilometer behind her.
"Great!" she thought. "Now I can have
a rest." So she laid down.
Now the family could quietly sneak up
behind and catch her. But oh no! The
youngest child fell .in a , puddle of mud.
Everyone started laughing again. But, the
one who fell, started to ery! She didn't
think there was anything to laugh about, so
mother picked her up and carried her.
They finally caught up to the cow.
Then the father said, "One, two, three,
jump ! " They all, jumped and landed face
first in the snow as the cow jumped over
the smallest child.
The father thought, -We've passed all
these fences. There should be a corner
somewhere." What a bright idea! So they
cornered the cow and went back home
again.
I'm sure we could have caught her
sooner," remarked father.
"Oh well! We won't forget this
Christmas," replied the family. .
