A lessonof forgiveness
Dad and little Johnny harnessed up the
team of dark brown stallions and started
heading towards the coniferous forest in
their beautiful red sleigh. Mom and Tom-
my watched as the sled disappeared in the
snow.
Mother took out the dough and chocolate
chips from the cupboard and started bak-
ing cookies over the old wood stove. Little
Tomxny watched as his mommy baked the
cookies, He asked for Johnny's and his
father's gifts and started wrapping them
in really nice wrapping paper. He couldn't
do it alone, so his mommy helped him.
After mommy and Tommy were finished
baking mommy started knitting two
golden yellow scarves, one for Tommy and
the other for Johnny. Once in a while
mother would look out the window for a sl-
ed to come over the bridge, but none came.
AlL of a sudden there was a gingling of
bells and a clip -clopping sound over the
bridge. Tommy looked out of the window
and cried, "Mommy look ! " It's"Daddy and
Johnny." Mother opened the door while
father carried the tree into the living room
Together Mother, Tommy, and Johnny
carried the bucket of soil to where the tree
was and put the tree in it.
Mother went upstairs and took out the
decorations. The two brothers went into
the basement to get the stepladder, while
father went to the horses and put them in
the barn. He also put the sled in the big
shed.

Warmest of wishes to our
customers and friends
this joyous season!
Doreen and Vicki:
The decorations were made out of home-
made things by the boys during the past
weekend. At the time when all the decora-
tions were up, the boys went up the ladder
and put the big, bright star on the top of the
tree.
Then the small family started opening
presents. Johnny got a big, shiny firetruck
with a miniture fireman, and Tommy got a
big dumptruck with a .miniture man. •
Later on, the cookies that Mother and
Tommy had made were served with pop-
corn and- hot cocoa. The snack wasgood
and Tommy was praised for it. •
Mother went to the piano and started
playng a Christmas carol, so everybody
joined in by singing.
All of a sudden the Christmas tree fell
over and landed on Tommy. He was badly
hurt and the family doctor was called. He
had an injured back and would have to
stay off of it for a while.
Later on, when Johnny had to go to bed,
he said, "Mommy, I was jealous of Tom-
my for being praised for the cookies, so I
pushed the tree on top of him. I'm sorry,
Mommy. Please forgive me for doing it.
Mother answered, "I• forgive you and
I'm happy you told the truth, but you'd bet- -
ter tell Tommy about what happened."
"I will," answered Johnny, and thanks
for forgiving me. I'll never do it again."

Image in the stained glass window
This story is made up, but hopefully will
help you to understand more about Jesus
and Satan. •
There was once a boy named Bobby
Jenkins, who - lived in a place called
Rockytown. It wasn't very big, but it had
quite a few stores,
Bobby was a Christian and went to the
only church in town. This church had a
stained glass window with a picture of
Jesus on it. There was also a picture of
some sort of serpent. Bobby was about the
only one who really recognized it.
One day Bobby asked his mother about
the serpent, but she didn't know what he
was talking about. His father said the
same thing. Bobby was so confused.
Every Sunday Bobby went to church
knowing the serpent would still be there.
Half the time he wouldn't listen to the ser-
mon because he was trying to figure out its
meaning.
Bobby's confusion finally caught up with
him. In Sunday School the teacher called
his name, but he did not hear her. He just
sat there thinking to himself.
`All that week Bobby was doing very bad-
ly in school. At the end of the week his
teacher phoned and told his mom what was
happening. Bobby's mother sat down
beside him and talked to him. They then
came to a solution.
The next day Bobby and his mother went
to see the minister. Even the minister
didn't understand what Bobby meant. Bob-
by didn't know what to do until the
minister told him to point it out. He did.
Then the minister knew what he was talk-
ing
alking about. •
He aat Bobby down, and explained that
the serpent was Satan, and that Jesus
would crush the head of Satan at the end of
time. It was because of the serpent, that
Adam and Eve were sent out of the garden
of goodness.
Bobby had heard that story before so he
knew what the minister was trying to tell
him. He and his mother returned home not
knowing what the minister was going to
do.
The next day was Sunday- and Bobby
went to church 'with his mind refreshed.
The minister's sermon was about the
stained glass window and the unnoticeable
serpent.
After reading this I hope you also will
better understand what Jesus did for us.
Have a Merry Christmas!

I aarit la star
I am the star. I am a sign so people can
see Jesus. I helped the wise inen so they
could see Jesus. Shepherds followed me so
they could see Jesus. 'So I led them to
Bethlehem, I : am so happy that I can help
Jesus. I helped Mary and Joseph see
where they were going, And I am happy
.that Mary had Jesus to take away our sins.
