Area developer Gerry Glenn appeared
at the council meeting on' December 9 to
ask council for permission to use the
"Community Centre Road" as an access
road for building lots behind his apart-
ments on oss Street.
Council said they would be in. consult
with the village engineers, BM Ross and
Associates of Goderich, to see what would
be appropriate.

Building approval ,
Council received a letter from the
Maitland Valley Conservation Authority
( MVCA) regarding a proposal from
Treleaven's Feed Mill to build storage
bins.
In the their letter, ' the MVCA said since
the mill site is located in the flood plain
area of the. village. In such situations, the
authority requires flood proofing•to includ-
ed in any building project in the flood plain
area. •
The MVCA recommended the applica-
tion be approved. Lucknow council also ap-
proved the building of the storage bins at
the feed mill:

Council members passed a motion to
keep the. committee appointments the
same in 1987 as those appointed .in 1986.

Fines to remain the same
Council defeated a request by the
village's Bylaw Officer Jack Crozier to
have the finesfor parking violation raised

plain at $5 for 1987.,
New building inspector
Councilvoted to appoint Town Foreman
Gary Austin as the village's new building
inspector: Former inspector Doug .Halden-
by said to council that he wished to be
relievedof the duties. The wages for the
building inspector will be adjusted
accordingly.
Bridge Inspection.
Council received a letter from village
engineering firm, ,BM Ross and
Associates, regarding a recent inspection
of the Campbell Street bridge under the
business section of Lucknow
In their letter, the firm recommended
repairs be made to the concrete on the
bridge and rip -rap construction should be
done along the sides of the bridge to pre-
vent further "scouring of the bridge's
footings" because of the high water table
;of the river.
They also recommended the bridge be
posted with a level 1 load restriction of 14
tonnes,
The engineering firm estimated the cost
of the repairs to the bridge to be $50,000.
However, the repairs would be covered by
a 100 per cent subsidy from the Ministry of
Transporation and Communication:
