The UCW executive were responsible for
the annual meeting. The fellowship room
was gaily decorted in keeping with
Christmas.
Dessert was served a 7 p.m. and after a
social time, a Christmas programwas
presented. Mrs. George McBride chaired
the program and read Isaiah 94. Mrs.
obert Finlay read Luke 2-8 and Mrs,
Eldon Bradley led in prayer.
Mrs. Charles Anderson and Mrs. Jack
Treleavan received the offering. It was
dedicated by Mrs. Treleaven. Mrs.
Houston presided at the piano.
The theme of the program " The Night It
Was" was well presented by Mrs. Glen
Walden. She was dressed as a shepherd
and actd as the narrator. Between narra-
tions, all joined in Christmas Carols.
Mrs. Clarence Ritchie presided for the
business period, Miss Norma
Weatherhead reported on the prebyterial
meeting she had "attended. The •Lucknow
UCW will be hosting the annual
Presbyterian meeting in March. All
chairmen and secretaries gave a sum-
mary of their year's work. They all added
up to another successful year. Mrs. Stuart
Reavie as treasurer reported a net income
of over $9,500, of which $4,300 has been

GAMBLE Brian and Kelly Gamble (nee
Mackie) of Waterloo wish to announce the
birth of their twin daughters weighing 6
"lbs.1 oz., and 5 lbs. 8 oz., (one stillborn) on
Wednesday, November 26 at Kitchener-
Waterloo Hospital. Proud grandparents
are Allan and Alice Gamble of Ripley and
Russell mackie of Holyrood.
HESSELS - Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hessels of
RR 5 Wingham are pleased to announce
the birth of their son Jeremy Albert, 7 lbs.

UCW within the church as well as other
United Church established projects.
Mrs. Robert Finlay presented the slate
of officers for 1987-88. They will be install-
ed on January II at the morning service.
This will also be a service to coo-
memorate the 25th year of the United
Church Women.
Rev. McFarlane spoke encouraging
words to the members and congratulated
them for their work and interest in the
total work of the church.
Mrs. C Ritchie closed this portion of the,
program with a poem. The new president,
Mts. Gordon Cayley, spoke a few words
and announced the first executive meeting
would be held on January 27 and the the
general meeting would be held on
February 10.
The YWCA (Young Women Can
Achieve) werethanked. for " their fine
nativity scene they have placed in the
church narthex.
Mrs. R. Finlay presented Mrs. C. Ritchie
with a lifemembership and certificate.
She thanked her for her leadership during
the past two years.
Mrs. G. Cayley closed the .meeting with
prayer.
