South I'fllOSS WMS holds annual meeting

The December and Annual Meeting of
the South Kinloss WMS was held on
December 3 in the church with Mrs. Allan
MacDougall as hostess. The meeting
began with a pot -luck dinner and all en-
joyed the great variety of tasty foods.
President Mrs. Allan MacDougall,
welcomed all and thanked the rectors,
Mrs. John Mowbray, Mrs. Leonard Macln-
nes and Mrs. Harold Campbell who had set
up and decorated the tables. She read a
poem and a Christmas carol was sung.
Mrs. John Mowbray presented the
Christmas Meditation, "Timing is
Everything.” There is time for laughter
and also for silence. Those taking part in
the prayer circle were: Mrs. Schmidt,
Mrs. Collyer and Mrs. Maclnnes. Mrs.
Fraser MacKinnon gave a reading.
The rollcall was interesting with 17
members answeringwith "A Christmas
memory."
Mrs. Lloyd MacDougall gave a
Christmas reading.
The minutes of the November meeting
were read and approved. The annual
meeting of the Maitland Presbytery will be
held in Wingham on January 19. A thank -
you note was to be sent to Mrs. John
Forster for the gift of a 32 -cup perculator
for the church kitchen. Motions were made
that money from the Ladies' Aid Fund' be
used for: Gandy for the Sunday School,
Sunshine Committee and secretary ex-
penses. A donation of $10 was also given to
the Home Bible League. Two new stainless
steel coffee jugs are to be purchased with
the donations received from Mrs. W.F.
MacDonald,
South Kinloss WMS will observe their
Centennial in August of 1988. A committee
was named for planning a special service
in 1983.
Two harmonica selections by Mrs.
Harold Campbell were appreciated after
the business period.
Mrs. Herb Buckton read a good poem
written by Edna Jacques.
The annual meeting began with the
reading of the 1985 meeting and their ap-
proval. The treasurer, secretaries and the
historian each read a report and moved its
approval. Mrs. Allan MacDougall second-
ed the approval of the reports. South °
Kinloss concluded another worthwhile
year under the Aim and Purpose of the

new officers for 1987.
Courtesy remarks were given by Mrs.
'Harold Campbell. Another Christmas
carol was sung and the president closed
the meeting with a Christmas Prayer.

meeting was held in the church basement on
November 17. Nora Saunders opened the
meeting with the reading of . Psalm 81 and
the ;singing. of Hymn 405, : 4W
Donna Young . read the devotionalwhich
spoke of the joyous activity at the birth of
• Jesus Christ. ,The film "Chino the Cat" was
enjoyed by all. It entailed the story of a lady
who loved her cat.
The draw for the UCW quilt was made by
Mrs. Ann Millar with the lucky winner being,,
Mr. George Errington.
The secret friend gifts were then exchang-
ed and each person told who had been their
secret friend. New secret friends were then'
drawn. Grace was sung and a delicious
cake and ice cream dessert was served.
A short business meeting followed. The
minutes were read and approved and the
correspondence was dealth with. The
treasurer's report was given and several
business items were discussed. The Willing
Workers are invited to the UCW's Pot Luck
Dinner on December 9 at 12:30.

of Bayfield at Clinton on Monday
afternoon,
