Ashfield WMS holds. meeting
The AshfieldWomen's Missionary Socie-
ty met at the home of Mrs. Warren Wylds
on Wednesday afternoon.
Mrs. Ewen McLean was the leader for
the meeting on "Peace and Remembrance
and a poem on Remembrance Day.
• The devotions were given by Mrs.
McLean reading several passages of scrip-
ture with the word "Peace". The medita-
tion was taken from Rev. Kenneth Mac-
IVIallan's book; Against the Tide. People
are meant to live in harmony with God and
to do His will, but God's will is not being
done and this is why there is war and strife
within ourselves, between ourselves and
among nations.
Mrs. Donald Simpson gave the bible
study on "Lydia". Mrs. McLean read an
article written by a 12 -year-old on peace
and also a poem written by an 11 -year-old
boy who won a Legion Award for his
Remembrance Day poem.
The "Glad Tidings" review was given by
Mrs. Henry MacKenzie. Rollcall was,
answered by 11 ladies by giving "one step I
can take toward world peace."
The offering was received and dedicated
by Mrs. Henry MacKenzie. Mrs. McLean
thanked the hostess and her committee.
Mrs. Charles Wilkins presided for the
business. The minutes were read and ap-
proved. The treasurer's report was given
by Mrs, Warren Wylds. Mrs. Lloyd Collins
gave the Ladies Aid Report. Mrs. Allan
MacDonald asked the ladies to convene the
lunch for the Sunday School Concert on
Sunday, December 7 at the church.
The meeting closed with a unison prayer
from "Living Faith" on world peace..
Gracv-oas sung and a social time was en-
joyed by the members.

Being a Farmer
Being a farmer isn't a fashion
It's a lifestyle with a passion
For fields of flowers and fresh green hay
And fresh eggs that the chickenglay;
For collies and cows and little lambs;
For smoked bacon and salty hams;
For clover fields and honey bees
And fresh churned butter and cottage
cheese;
